Phoenix POV
The team walked into a dark room with rocks circling around the place. There was no way out, and that's how they wanted it.
"Arcane Order!" Terri shouted. "We propose a trade! The database for your staffs."
We all appeared at different times and in different places. Skrael teleported behind them in a frosted tornado. Nari crawled from within a corridor. I was flying above them, and Bellroc appeared from within a fiery swirl.
"Give us our staffs!" They said.
"Not unless you give us the database."
Skrael and I spared each other's looks, but I felt that he was still keeping eyes on me. Then we looked at Bellroc. We huddled together.
"We're not giving these impures the database," Skrael said.
"You wanted to get the staff back, right?" Nari said, climbing onto Bellroc's back.
"Of course I do! I just don't see why we need to give them the information about us to do it!"
"The staffs contain secret magicks that they will not understand. They will have already told Xan by now."
"So we give it to them?" Bellroc asked.
"It appears so," Nari said. She pulled a data chip from her dark green hair and handed it to me. I fluttered down to the team and handed them the chip. The rest of the Arcane Order landed, too. Terri tossed their wands to them, and they each dove after theirs like they had missed them.
"We call a truce," Nari said, holding up two fingers.
The Arcane Order looked at me then back at the team.
"And why should we do that?" Bellroc asked.
"In return, we won't break into your castle anymore," Lucifer said.
"And if you break our deal," Skrael added before they left. "You and the rest of your world will get what's coming to them."
"We won't," Ferdinand said. Then they left.
