"Question, why are you wearing a coat with a collar as...ahem...frilly as that in April?" I asked.

Thrax answered, "I don't feel temperatures like normally people do. In short, I'm not a normal person. Anyways...I got you a little something." He handed me a Chick-Fi-La bag. "Before Plague got the rest of the waffle fries."

"Oh, thank goodness, I didn't eat lunch or breakfast!" I said, quickly snarfing down everything.

"So how are we going to do this? The murders?"

"I was going to ask you, but we're going to start a square one, roll the dice, and make our moves."

"I'm so gosh dang hungry," Thrax muttered.

I rolled my eyes but tried not to show it.

"We'll get some interviews...I suppose. People who last saw Gertrude. We should also get to know each other before we start solving these."

"Get to know each other?"

"Yeah...give me a few "need-to-know" facts about yourself."

Thrax tucked his hair behind his...um...I wasn't sure he had ears.

"Number one, I like red wine. Two, the corpses I eat must have blood on them otherwise I won't eat them. And it MUST be fresh blood. Three, I don't work for people. I only work with which happens very rarely or you work for me. I'm done."

"You're a strange person, Anthrax."

"HOLD IT!" He screamed, "No one gets to use my actual name."

"Can I ask why?"

Thrax turned to me very slowly and raised an eyebrow.

"I will take that as a no."

"Now what about you princess...what kind of  "stuff" have you gotten yourself and my "brother" into?"

"Um...well. I don't have any secrets to tell you....other than one thing."

Thrax began slurping a slushie loudly.

"And if I tell you it...you must promise not to stop dead, squeal, or spit out your drink in a dramatic fashion."

Thrax continued slurping.

I inhaled.

"I. Am...pregnant."

There was a very awkward silence. Thrax simply gave me a finger gun.

"Called it," he said.

"You're not going to do anything?"

"Oh, no, I assumed it was only a matter of time before you and Lucifer started "expanding" your relationship. What'd your mother say?"

"She...slapped Lucifer across the face."

Thrax began snickering.

"That happens to him a lot."

I looked at Thrax all over while raising an eyebrow

"Can I ask you a few more questions?"

"Depends on what they are."

"Why the change? I mean before you were a straight up criminal through and through now you're..."

"Hot?" Thrax flipped his hair as we got out of the car.

I tried to hide my smile because that hair made me envious.

"Yeah, it was only a matter of time before I let my hair down."
