Ackley's POV

"Azi!"

I ignored them and sinuot ang headset ko. I can feel their presence pero hindi ko sila pinansin at nagbasa lang ng libro.

"Ayaw mo kumain?" Luisa asked.

Binaba ko ang libro and looked at them. They are raising their eyebrows at me, acting like they are my parents. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"Wala akong gana." As usual, lagi naman akong walang gana.

"Dalhan ka na lang namin ng pagkain," Amitel said and tapped my shoulder.

I just nodded and continued reading my book. Narinig ko pa ang pag-alis nila pero hindi ko na lang pinansin. This is my routine everyday. A grade 7 student who loves to be alone, reading books and not showing interest in anyone except my friends.

Nakahiga lang ako sa ilalim ng puno habang nagbabasa. A lot of girls were trying to walk towards me but I glared at them. I rolled my eyes when they started to run away.

Girls, girls. Tsk.

"Nathalie! Sali ka'na sa'min, dali na!"

Argh! Ang ingay!

I was about to high my volume when I heard a soft voice, which made me stop.

"K-Kayo na lang, hehe."

I secretly looked at the girl who's sitting on a bench while holding a burger in her right hand and a coke in her left hand. I stared at her face. She has big cute eyes, long eyelashes, and a pointed nose. Her cheeks look squishy, na parang laging kinukurot ng marami. My eyes landed on her lips, her lips are thin and reddish.

I gulped and looked at her face. She's smiling at her classmates. Napahawak ako sa dibdib ko nang biglang lumakas 'yung tibok.

"What the?" gulat kong bigkas.

Why is my heart beating so fast?

I looked at her again and my eyes widened when I saw her looking at me. Nakita ko pa ang pamumula ng mukha niya at umiwas ng tingin. I bit my lower lip and covered my face with my book.

"Fuck! Fuck!"

Hinawakan ko ang dibdib ko dahil sa lakas ng tibok nito. What the hell is happening?!

I watched and read some romantic story or movie, and when your heart started to beat fast while looking at someone, you're in love–

"What the fuck?!" I cursed myself at ginulo ang buhok ko.

Tangina, kailan pa ako nag-isip ng mga gan'on?

This is not good.

"Anyare sa'yo?"

I looked at Acel and shook my head. Nandito ako sa library and it's already afternoon but nandito pa rin kami sa school. Kanina pa ako dito sa library dahil wala akong maintindihan sa binabasa kong lesson.

She's still in my mind after what happened kanina.

"Can I ask?" I asked and tulalang tumingin kay Acel.

He looked at me. "What is it?"

I gulped at ginulo ang buhok. Kanina pa ako naguguluhan sa pagbilis ng tibok ng puso ko. And I don't want this, baka hindi ako makatulog mamaya dahil sa babae na iyon.

What are you doing to me?

"I-If you stare at someone and your heart starts to beat fast, what's the meaning of that?" tanong ko sa kanya.
