tracing the shapes that the sky creates,
spread across upon the rooftop chairs,
finger pointed straight to the heavens.

from dippers little to big
to those at taco bell,
i outline figure after figure.

i see the love of my life
scattered across the canvas of black,
splattered with the brightest freckles,
shining just like his eyes.

tucked into orion's belt,
shooting across the universe,
reaching heights unfathomable
to the common man,
i am along for it all,
and i could not ask for more.

the dog star,
both in the cosmos and out.
the brightest blink up above.

and out of every adjacent star,
we complete a constellation.
