A/N: i was doing some contemplating about something that i've learned over the past few days.

confidence.
what is it?

it's the distinct lettering on products
that catches your eye.
the notable element
that sells the package to you.

although the outside
may look put-together and bold,
it says absolutely nothing
about the contents inside.

the box could be empty.
the item could be chipped or broken.
you never know
until you purchase it and unwrap it.

why would someone
want to sell an empty box
or a defective product?

well, for the profit, of course.
for the gratification that they caught
a poor soul's eyes.

my box isn't empty.
there's burnt candles and broken pencils,
a worn, tear-soaked stuffed animal,
and various scattered puzzle pieces.

my exterior is somewhat grandeur,
my loud, hostess nature
handling most of the performance.

my confidence shines when i need it to.
other than that, the things i have to offer
come across as quite plain.

however, some people that i've met
have found use for the citrus candles.

they fell in love
with my huggable, soft toy.

they've helped me find out
how to put the puzzle pieces together.

if they enjoy me,
i've got to have some good in me.
maybe my pretty packaging
holds worthwhile contents within.
