the movie in my mind.
it plays out so clearly
when i inject audible adrenaline
for my mind to run off of.

what a day for merging classes.
i sit across the room, on the risers.
i pull my hood up to shield my gloomy face
afraid it will taint the entire room.

sunshine boy.
asked to pair up,
he bolts over
and drags me out in front of the students.
"how do you know each other?"

he takes my hands
and cues a song we both have memorized.
to cheer and comfort me.

we jump and spin
as if fifty people aren't watching.
we run off out of the class,
excited for what was to await us.

what thrills me more?
to be able to sing and dance
without the nerves cause by others watching?
or to be able to do that
with a pretty one that cares for me
above all others?

if that is the dream,
where is the catcher to catch her?
