overwhelming.
that is how the world intends on being.

this day...
this day will be noticed,
a sore thumb in a garden of hands.

something i've wanted for a while
ran up to me
and kicked me in the shin
when i least expected it the most.

i don't know if i'm ready,
but be assured,
i will be the best girlfriend
my heart will enable me to be.

i promise,
my everything is laid out here
for your consumption.
i just ask you
to provide the same dish.

something i've wanted for a while,
relief,
washed over me
as i sat in the car.

the universe,
as overwhelming as it wanted to be,
had mercy on my poor soul,
and alleviated the situation,
by giving me the strength to communicate
to the ones that i love most.

i reported.
my past may stain the walls,
but i can repaint the room at any time.

let this day go down in my history
as the day where new love was sparked
and closets were opened,
revealing cracked, dusty skeletons.

let those skeletons rest in peace,
and let this journey be the greatest.
