—————————————————————
after you left,
i mopped all the floors,
wiped down all the seats,
and the wine cellar doors.after you left,
i ate a grilled cheese,
picked up all my stuff,
and did as i pleased.after you left,
i went into my room,
fidgeting with my wristband,
my acquired heirloom.after you left,
i flopped onto my bed,
vivid memories
dancing through my head.after you left,
the syringe contents went in,
injecting my veins
with the sweetest poison.after you left,
i stared at the ceiling,
numb to the touch,
not knowing what i was feeling.i was riding a high,
from the taste of your lips,
my heart on a marathon,
and my brain doing flips.your uncanny way with words,
better than anyone i've met,
or those savory chocolate eyes
i will never forget.the way that your body
pressed into mine
sent goosebumps up my arms
and chills down my spine.i knew seeing you
would be detrimental to me,
giving me a taste
of everything that could be.it's only been two days
since i got to see you.
looking at digital keepsakes
is all i can do.i'm desperately longing for your touch,
now that i've felt it.
now i am truly aware
of the energy you emit.
