One week later

So it's been a week and a LOT has changed. I've been trying, actually trying! Recovery is nowhere near easy and I'm not even sure I can class myself as far into recovery but I'm getting there. I'm taking the steps. Eating is still torture and my head still screams. It takes me so long to even finish a small snack, it can take up to two whole hours. But I'm fighting. My team are beginning to trust me more and more. I'm earning more and more trust from my family every day! And I'm tube free so this is a HUGE win!

"Everleigh, Maya is leaving now if you want to say goodbye!" I put down my sketchpad and pencils, jumping out of bed. When I enter the hallway, Maya is standing with her suitcase and backpack next to her. I rush over and hug her tightly.

"I'm gonna miss you, sprog!" I whisper to her.

"I'll miss you too! But it's only 4 days, I'll be back before you know it! And I'll be bringing back souvenirs of course. Maybe I can fit the Eiffel Tower in my suitcase," She jokes. Maya has a huge school trip with most of her year group to go to Paris. Something to do with French combined with history and geography, basically just a holiday but they'll sprinkle a little bit of education in there too.

Sam and Jack are trying to hide their worry. They don't like the idea of their daughter being in a new country so far from them but they want her to have fun so they suppress their anxieties.

"Make sure you phone us as soon as you get there and you send lots of photos! Call us every evening and most importantly, have fun!" Sam says.

"Sam, it's okay. Let the kid breathe a little, she'll be okay!" Jack reassures him, wrapping his arm around his husband's waist.

"You're right. Okay. Well, we'd better get in the car and get going! You don't want to miss the coach!" Sam nods, taking Maya's suitcase as Jimmy enters the hallway.

"Don't forget your lunch! I packed extra snacks for you," he says, putting the lunchbox and a flask into her backpack.

"Alright, alright I've got everything! Stop worrying, I'll be fineeee! It's gonna be fun and Carys and Tara will be with me too, we've even called dibs on being roommates! Alright, let's go!" Maya grabs her backpack and opens the door. I wave as Sam and her leave. Once they're gone, I walk into the kitchen, calling out to Summer. It's time for her breakfast.

"Sum, sit. Paw. Eat!" I do her routine and at the final command she begins inhaling her food. Jimmy has already set up my breakfast. I'm on my week two mealplan now so it's an increase. Scary but I've got my feather, I can do this.

Week 2 Mealplan:

Breakfast: 1 slice of toast with butter or 30g of cereal with 200g semi skimmed milk with an apple, orange or banana and a 200ml cup of fruit juice

Snack: Fortasip with a yoghurt or cereal bar

Lunch: sandwich with one or two fillings or a bagel with one filling or a pasta pot with a 200ml cup of fruit juice and a small side dish.

Snack: Fortasip with a small chocate bar or two fruit items or vegetable sticks with 2 tablespoons of hoummus

Dinner: One small serving of each: carbs, protein and vegetables with a cup of fruit juice or milk drink

Snack: Fortasip with an ice cream pot or a dessert pot or a packet of crisps

Today's breakfast is a slice of toast cut into triangles, an orange already peeled and in segments and some pineapple juice, my second favourite. I look over to Jimmy.
