Albedo brought Kaeya back to his motel and helped him get into bed, even though he was also equally as drunk.
Albedo stared down at the sleeping Kaeya.
"I think I want to spend the rest of my life with you Albedo Kreideprinz.", "No, I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Repeated in Albedo's head.
He clenched his hands into fists.
You're an idiot Kaeya Alberich.
Albedo took a deep breath to prevent him from crying.
He glanced at him one last time before leaving to go back to headquarters.
Albedo took a deep breath before entering his apartment.
It was quiet, he honestly expected to be scolded by Childe when he entered.
He locked the door then took his shoes and coat off and went to his kitchen.
He grabbed some wine and didn't even bother grabbing a cup.
He popped the top off and walked over to his balcony.
Albedo's room was one of the very few rooms with a balcony, since Tsaritsa claimed it wasn't safe to have them.
He both hated and loved how L.A looked at night.
He took a sip after sip of the wine bottle until it was eventually empty, which reminded him to go to bed.
Well, he didn't make it that far because he just ended up laying on his couch with the bottle still in his hand.
He passed out within seconds.
"Albedo."
"Albedo!"
"Albedo if you don't wake up this instant!"
"What..?" Albedo forced his eyes open as he turned to see who was talking to him.
It was Zhongli looking down at him with crossed arms and an unpleasant look on his face.
"It's 2:30, why aren't you up yet?!" Zhongli grabbed the wine bottle from Albedo's hand, "Jesus Albedo! You need to get your life together!" Zhongli threw the wine bottle in the trash.
"I just slept in one day, that doesn't mean my life is a disaster." Albedo muttered tiredly as he sat up.
"Ow." Albedo rubbed his head like that would magically cure his horrible headache.
"Wait..how did you get in?" Albedo looked up at Zhongli, which Zhongli ignored the question, "You had a meeting Tsaritsa an hour ago Albedo!" Zhongli went into Albedo's room to grab some close for him.
"I did?" Albedo checked his phone, he had gotten and email informing him about the 1:00 meeting at 7:00 AM.
"Maybe if you actually checked your emails once in a while you'd know that." Zhongli threw Albedo's clothes at him.
"Be there in 20 minutes or we'll both face the consequences." Zhongli gave him one last glare before leaving.
Albedo loudly groaned.
Kaeya was sleeping like a baby, but that soon got disrupted by him falling off the bed.
"Ow! Ugh.." Kaeya rubbed his head in the spot he fell on.
It didn't take long for his headache to come.
"Albedo?" He called out, he honestly thought Albedo would be next to him.
Maybe he's on the couch.
Kaeya got up, ignoring his headache, and went to check the couch.
"Albedo?" Kaeya was getting worried now.
Did he say he was going back to headquarters last night? Damn it stupid brain, remember!
Kaeya sighed and looked over to Leo.
Leo stretched then went up his cat tree.
"You're right, I shouldn't worry about him. He works in the Fatui he can take care of himself." Kaeya felt stupid for worrying. The confused cat meowed.
"I need to get dressed." Kaeya yawned.
Shit, I forgot to call in sick yesterday...
Kaeya hurried to work.
Well, I've skipped work many time without calling in sick before so it shouldn't matter...
Kaeya gulped, he tried to reassure himself but he was still a little nervous.
He went into the department, Viktor was there; though he surprisingly didn't say anything.
Kaeya didn't mind the silent Viktor.
"Kaeya! You weren't here yesterday, so the chief asked me to give this to you." One of Kaeya's colleagues handed Kaeya a bunch of articles on the Fatui (like conspiracy theories and much more), and also some more info about the Fatui's members.
"Oh, thank you." Kaeya frowned at all the articles, "No problem, and...if you see the chief, tell him we're here for him. It's been rough for him these past couple days." His colleague gave him a soft smile before leaving.
Kaeya sighed and went sat down at his desk, looking through the articles and info.
He had to admit he was curious about what information Ayato found about Albedo.
I already know all of this.
Kaeya flipped to the other page, he was shocked to see what he found.
It was what Albedo's life was like before the Fatui...how did Ayato get this type of information?
Kaeya read it slowly.
Albedo was 15 when he joined the Fatui. He was found in some alleyway in L.A. Another member of the Fatui found him, his name is Dottore.
He used to be in a gang with his family and family "friends", the name of the gang is unknown. He left the gang after almost killing his mother, with a reason I don't know of.
Albedo was most likely abused in the gang he was in. I could not find any information about the gangs members other then the major interactions Albedo had with them, which is not many.
Kaeya didn't know how to feel after reading that, it wasn't a lot of information but it was still enough to make him worry.
"So glad you could finally make it, Albedo." Tsaritsa said disappointedly.
"Mm." Albedo was too tired to answer, he just sat down.
Zhongli glared at him from beside Tsaritsa.
Tsaritsa fidgeted with the ring on her finger as she spoke, "I wanted to talk about some...rumors I've been hearing about you."
Fuck.
Albedo stayed calm on the outside but he could feel the fear eating him alive.
He must've slipped up and let it show more a second because he saw Tsaritsa smirk at him.
