Part 50 : Why Were You Here?

Albedo walked through the headquarters halls to get back to his room, when he reached it, he saw Zhongli waiting for him with an unpleasant look on his face.

"Where the hell have you been?" Zhongli asked coldly.

Albedo didn't reply.

"You must've been out with Kaeya hm? I knew you were lying about forgetting him." A tsk followed.

Albedo bit his lip, holding back the tears.

"Answer me Albedo!" Just then, Albedo bursted into tears.

Zhongli suddenly looked stunned.

He looked around for a moment then looked back at Albedo sympathetically.

Zhongli sighed then borough Albedo close, hugging him.

Albedo hugged him back, he didn't know why he was letting the man who abused him since he was 15 comfort him, but it felt right in the moment.

He still hated Zhongli, he still hated the Fatui, and he still hated himself. This hug didn't fix any of his problems, but it made him feel lighter.

"What happened?" Zhongli spoke softly.

"He's gone...he's really gone, Zhongli. I...—I wanted to say sorry but I just couldn't." His voice cracked.

"Albedo I'm so sorry." Zhongli hugged him tighter.

Albedo cried into his arms. He didn't want to believe it, but he was still that same 15 year old Dottore found on the streets of L.A covered in blood and bruises. He never changed, he just got older.

Rosaria brought Kaeya home.

"Thank you Rosaria.." Kaeya smiled sadly at her.

"No problem, if you need any help—" Rosaria quickly took a pen and small piece of paper out of her purse (which had a pin on it), "Here's my number." She smiled and gave it to Kaeya.

Kaeya nodded and took it.

"By the way, I'm not really into women..so I'm sorry if thats—" Kaeya looked up at Rosaria, she had an unimpressed look on her face.

"I'm sorry, did I misunderstand?" Kaeya laughed, embarrassed.

"Yes, very much. I'm lesbian, and have a girlfriend. So I wouldn't want anything more then a friendly bond with you." Rosaria put a hand on her hip with a smirk.

"Oh, my apologies!" Kaeya felt stupid, how could he have not noticed the obvious lesbian pride pin on her purse.

"It's okay." She chuckled, "I hope to see you soon" Rosaria waved bye before leaving.

Kaeya sighed and looked down at the piece of paper.

He put it in his pocket and headed into his motel room.
