Chapter 24 : That Night.

Today Kaeya had been so busy that he'd forgotten what day it was.

It was June 27th, the day the incident occurred. The only reason it came to his mind was because him and Albedo were talking about maintaining relationships, which made him think of Diluc (his brother), which also made him think of Crepus, his adoptive father.

Every year, Kaeya has these horrible night terrors about that incident. He hoped that if Albedo had a bed to sleep in, he'd be so comfortable he'd fall into a deep sleep so he wouldn't hear Kaeya experiencing those night terrors.

The incident left Kaeya with a broken relationship with his brother, and a dead father.

Though he's tried convincing himself that it wasn't his fault, it never worked.

Kaeya has been doing a case with the disappearing of L.A's citizens, he believed it has something to do with one of the Fatui members.

He was asked to come along to investigate a possible destination of where the culprit was.

Kaeya agreed of course.

It was an abandoned looking building, broken windows and closed up doors.

Though, only one room looked slightly more modern from the outside.

The officer that had came with Kaeya unfortunately had been called to a crime scene and had to leave Kaeya alone.

Kaeya did feel a bit worried, what if the culprit really was here?

But he wasn't going to back down. If putting himself in danger helps people, then he sure as hell will.

Kaeya took out his gun and loaded it.

He slightly opened the door and looked through.

As far as he could see, there was a man with red hair and what looked like a doctors uniform.

Kaeya took a deep breath.

He went in and pointed the gun at the back of the man's head.

The man froze, he slowly looked at Kaeya.

They both gasped when they saw each other.

"Crepus..?"

"Kaeya?!"

"What..what are you..who.." Kaeya was at a loss for words, his hand that had the gun in it became limp, making him vulnerable.

Kaeya looked behind Crepus and saw a body, a dead, yet untouched, body.

Crepus cleared his throat, which made Kaeya's attention go back to him.

Kaeya looked at him with pure shock.

"You're..." Kaeya muttered.
