"I'd like to request a few more cases." Kaeya looked down at the desk to not face the chief.

The chief put on a light smile, "And why is that?"

"It's just that...I have a lot of free time on my hands at the moment." Kaeya really didn't think of an excuse before this, he had to admit it was dumb of him.

"Cases aren't about 'having a lot of free time' Mr. Alberich. It's about helping people in need. And that's not your job, you're a cop, not a detective." The chief stood up, which frightened Kaeya into looking up at him.

His bland face stared back at Kaeya, "I know you have experience being a detective." The chief pushed his hair back and sighed, "That's the only reason I'm letting you get away with this, but you have to be certain. You said you never wanted to be a detective again after the...incident." The chief narrowed his eyes slightly at Kaeya.

"I'm sure," Kaeya nodded slowly.

"Alright." The chief nodded.

The chief took some cases that were stashed in his file cabinet and handed them to Kaeya. You could see the slightest smile on the chiefs face.

"Thank you, Mr. Kamisato." Kaeya got up and lightly took the files than thanked him again with a nod.

"Please, call me Ayato." Ayato (the chief) sat back down completely blocking out Kaeya after he began working on his record.

Kaeya took a deep breathing before leaving, but was stopped when he heard Ayato call out to him, "Yeah?" Kaeya responded, he'd lost his formal tone and worry slipped out.

"You better not be lying to me, Kaeya." Ayato's cold eyes met with Kaeya's worry filled ones. Kaeya felt like he'd just been shocked with lighten, "I'd never." Kaeya smiled to distract Ayato from his worry filled face (even if it didn't help that much) and left.

The hours pasted slowly, Kaeya sighed of relief when he saw the time.

6:40

That gave him enough time to go home and clean up his motel.

Kaeya stuffed the files into his bag and straightened his coat.

"Have fun on your non-date Kaeya dear!" The officer at the front office cheered his coffee at Kaeya, "Suck my dick," Kaeya gave him the finger before (almost) exiting the department.

"Bet you'd like that, little fa---!" Kaeya grabbed him by the collar, "Can you just shut up for once?" Kaeya snapped at him, "It was just a joke? Get your hands off me faggot--!"

It was then when Kaeya's patience had finally ran out, he punched him in the nose, likely breaking it.

"You..." He was at a loose for words (because of the pain and the shock), "You dick!" The officer cried out, voice cracking the slightest at the end. Kaeya scolded him before walking out.
