"Kaeya, the chief wants to see you." Someone said, Kaeya nodded in a response.
Kaeya got up and knocked on Ayato's door, Ayato told him to come in and close the door behind him, which he did.
"If this is about the Fatui Case then—" "Kaeya, have you found something about the Fatui or anything?" Ayato looked like he hadn't slept in days, he was also very desperate.
Kaeya couldn't see him like this so the least he could do was give him a little hope.
"Yes sir, I saw one of the members out in public yesterday...but I couldn't get to them fast enough." Kaeya didn't feel good about lying, but he'd feel worse if he told Ayato that he was barely even working on the case.
"Really?!" Ayato cleared his throat, "—I mean, really? Where?"
Kaeya didn't think this through, so he said the first place that came to mind, "Angel's Share."
"I'll have to send a team out there to investigate." Ayato was put at ease.
Damn it, Diluc's gonna hate me more then he already does for this.
Kaeya just smiled softly at Ayato.
"Thank you Kaeya. I really appreciate all you've been doing for me. Losing Thoma is very hard for me, and I don't even know if he's okay." Ayato slumped into his chair.
"We're all worried about you sir, we'll find Thoma." Kaeya reassured him, but he couldn't make it a promise.
Ayato smiled at him.
"Zhongli? It's Thoma, may I come in?" Thoma knocked.
"Sorry Thoma, Zhongli's not here." A voice said from the other side of the door.
What?
Thoma opened the door to see Childe sitting in Zhongli's seat.
"What are you doing here? Where's Zhongli?" Thoma still hasn't forgiven Childe for what he's done, which was very obvious.
"Relax guy, he just went out to get some tea packets." Childe yawned.
" 'Guy'? I have a name you know." Thoma crossed his arms, "It's like..Thomas or something, right?" Childe teased.
"It's Thoma, dick." He mumbled.
Childe frowned and got up, his eyes turned cold as he walked over to Thoma.
They glared at each other for awhile before Childe smirked, which surprised Thoma and he didn't know how to response to that.
Childe lifted Thoma's chin up with his finger.
"If you weren't so bitchy you'd totally be my type." Childe's smirk grew wider.
Thoma thought that was disgusting, he grabbed Childe's wrist and pulled his hand away.
"No wonder Zhongli rejected your proposal two years ago." Thoma smirked back at him, thinking he'd won.
Childe clenched his teeth and pushed Thoma out of the way to quickly get out of Zhongli's office.
Zhongli's over sharing finally came to good use.
Thoma was feeling pretty proud of himself.
