Kaeya was now looking through the folder that was full of names and pictures of the Fatui members at his desk.
Zhongli...Childe...Scaramouche...Dottore...Pierro... La Signora...
Kaeya felt physically sick when he saw Albedo's name. He didn't want to look at the rest, he couldn't bare the feeling that he was betraying both Ayato and Albedo.
Of course he wasn't going to tell Albedo about his little mission, how could he? That would ruin things. After last night...Kaeya feels closer to Albedo then ever.
Kaeya felt drained thinking about all of this.
Albedo was quite literally doing nothing. He hasn't been told to do anything and, unlike old times, he couldn't just go out killing people just to make more of a collection of organs.
"I'm coming in." Said an irritating voice with the sound of a door creaking open following.
"Jesus Christ Childe, can't I have a little privacy?" Albedo leaned back in his chair lazily.
"I saw you wearing your friends clothes. Strange for someone who was gonna stop talking to him." Childe turned to him sharply.
Albedo just rolled his eyes.
"I'm not telling you to do this because I'm 'protective', I'm doing this because you are putting the Fatui at risk." Childe closed the door with his foot and walked over to Albedo's desk.
"He's just using you to get to the headquarters." Childe gave him a cold look.
Albedo got up, staying silent.
"Don't tell me you're in love with him now." Childe chuckled, hoping that wasn't the case.
"What? Of course not." Looking away, Albedo thought about it some more.
"You need to stop getting closer and closer to him, if you don't handle this situation on your own then someone else is gonna have —" Albedo blocked out the rest of what Childe was saying as he went into deep thought about 'love'.
At the end of it, he decided it wasn't love he felt for Kaeya (or he just didn't want to believe it).
"Are you even listening? Jesus Albedo! What the hell is wrong with you?! You never acted like this before you met that bitch Kaeya!" Childe shouted, looking like he was about to pull his hair out.
"I'll get rid of him when I'm ready!" Albedo shouted back, slamming his hands onto the table.
"And when will that be? Huh? A year? Maybe two years? Or are you just gonna run off with him and start a new life? Well, news flash Albedo, you work in the fucking Fatui, you either work and provide these fucking organs for Tsaritsa or get killed." Childe left Albedo speechless.
Albedo hated that he had a point.
"Just get out of my office." Albedo muttered. Childe huffed and stormed out, slamming the door hard behind him.
30 minutes until Kaeya could leave work, yet he still hadn't got a text from Albedo.
Maybe he shouldn't have sent him that corny, 'have a good day at work' message. I mean, who even sends that kind of stuff anymore? Plus, he works in the Fatui, why would he have a good day at work?
God, now Kaeya was overthinking it.
[Albedo] Can I come over to your place? We need to talk.
Kaeya looked at his phone, he had a moment of excitement but then it faded into severe anxiety.
[Kaeya] Yeah sure totally! I'm heading home right now
It's probably gonna be about last night...God Kaeya, you're so stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid!
Kaeya banged his head onto the table with a groan.
Eventually, he got up and began heading home.
Albedo was pacing back and fourth outside Kaeya's motel room, biting in inside of his cheek.
How do I tell him? Shit, shit, shit!
Albedo heard footsteps come up behind him, he swiftly turned around and was met with the warm face Kaeya has always had since they met.
Kaeya was met with a terrified looking face, which slowly faded into a neutral one.
Albedo took a deep breath, he didn't know what to say to him. He'd probably hate him after this.
"You...wanted to talk to me?" Kaeya tried to keep on a smile, but he looked like he was about to cry.
"Kaeya I.." Albedo's voice cracked, which shocked both of them. Albedo cleared his throat, he didn't know that these simple few words would be so hard to get out. But he doesn't really know anything anymore, does he?
Kaeya's heart was racing, but it was different. He was scared, terrified even. Maybe it'd be better if he never met Albedo. Or if he would just stop having these feelings. But that's impossible, he was in love with him and he couldn't help it, he wished he could change how he felt, that would make it easier for him to complete this stupid case.
They both stared at each other, both not knowing they were at the verge of tears.
Before he knew it, Albedo was the first one to become a human waterfall. He tried to hide his tears but Kaeya had already noticed, "Are you alright? What's wrong?" Kaeya held Albedo's face up to his and wiped his tears with his thumb.
Albedo just couldn't stop crying, he tried to speak but all it did was hurt his throat.
Kaeya didn't know what to do, Albedo was now hyperventilating. Panicked, Kaeya looked around as if that would give him some clue on what to do.
He looked back at the sobbing Albedo.
"Albedo, Albedo please, I—Why are you crying?" Kaeya put his hands on Albedo's shoulders, searching his face for any sign of why he was crying.
"I don't know," it all Albedo could muster up, though it was scratchy.
Kaeya couldn't bare to see him like this any longer.
He pushed Albedo into a tight embrace.
Kaeya stroked Albedo's hair as he tried to calm him down, "It's okay, you're okay..." Kaeya whispered.
Albedo's sobs soon faded away and his breathing slowed down.
"Please don't cry." Kaeya calmed down as well after awhile.
"I love you."
