"What are you gonna do huh?! Arrest me?! Not if you're dead!" Miguel pulled out a gun but before he could even put his finger on the trigger he got shot in the arm.
Kaeya's eyes widened viciously and look at Albedo, who was holding a gun.
Miguel dropped the gun and turned pale in fear and shock, he huffed and started screaming insults at Albedo.
Albedo looked at Kaeya, which pulled Kaeya out of his shocked state and turned too Miguel.
He grabbed Miguel and forcefully bent him over the table, hand cuffing him.
"Hey! What the hell?!" Miguel shouted as he tried to get out of the handcuffs and Kaeya's harsh grip.
Albedo smugly smirked at Kaeya, Kaeya rolled his eyes and knocked Miguel out with his gun.
"I didn't think he'd break so easily." Kaeya put his gun back in his gun holder with a sigh.
"It was fun, I've never done anything like this." Albedo laughed a little, "Isn't drugging, killing and cutting off body parts fun?" Kaeya joked with a muffled laugh at the end, Albedo shook his head, "No, it gets annoying after a while." Albedo walked over to Miguels body.
"I can kill him now, right?" Albedo looked at Kaeya with a genuinely curious face, Kaeya let a little sweat drip from his face but nodded and look away.
Albedo raised his gun and shot three bullets into Miguels head.
Kaeya felt sick but covered it up with a formal look.
"I'll keep his body in his freezer for now, I didn't get anything to carry him with." Albedo grabbed his knife and started cutting up the body, Kaeya covered his mouth to prevent puking.
After Albedo was done, he put the body parts in the freezer.
Albedo grabbed the keys to Miguel's motel room and put it in his pocket, "I'll get it tomorrow morning." Albedo looked at Kaeya, he saw the sick look on his face and felt a wave a shame.
Albedo brushed it off saying, "We should go," Kaeya nodded in agreement.
The car ride back was uncomfortably quiet.
"Aren't you supposed to be work?" Kaeya asked without glancing at Albedo the slightest.
"I called my boss that I was taking half the day off before you woke up." Albedo replied with no extra expressions added.
Kaeya nodded and continued focusing on driving.
"I don't understand." Albedo spoke up.
"Understand what?" Kaeya asked with a raise of an eye brow, he felt uneasy.
"Why you're helping me. You should've put me in jail, no?" Albedo straightened his posture and looked at Kaeya with blank eyes.
Kaeya thought about it.
He bit his lip, knowing he didn't have an answer.
Albedo looked away to the window again.
He bit his lip to keep his mouth closed so he wouldn't blurt out the foolish question on his mind.
It unsettling silence stayed for a minute or two longer.
"I'm sorry If I did something wrong." His words surprised both Kaeya and himself.
Kaeya pulled into the nearest parking lot and looked at Albedo softly, Albedo stared back at him, eyes softening.
Kaeya reached over the seat and hugged Albedo, a sharp gasp escaped Albedo's mouth but he soon melted into the hug (even if he didn't hug Kaeya back).
"I'm sorry If I made you feel like you needed to apologize." Kaeya hugged tighter, Albedo smiled lightly.
They both leaned back from the hug and looked at each other.
Kaeya was memorized by Albedo's angelic teal eyes.
He felt butterflies in his stomach, he felt himself lean forward slowly as if he was on auto pilot. His eyes were locked on Albedo's lips until he saw Albedo back his head away, he looked up at Albedo and realized what he had been doing. Flustered, he looked away.
Albedo didn't show any signs of discomfort, but he didn't say anything about what had (almost) happened.
"Why do you have an eyepatch?" Albedo asked quietly, sounding like he almost stumbled on his words.
"Oh, ha, it's a long story." Kaeya rubbed the back of his head, "I'll listen," Albedo looked at him, warm smile plastered on his honest face.
Kaeya could feel his heart beating and his hands getting sweaty, he smiled back, "I don't think you wanna know. But tell me, what shampoo do you use?" He asked with his smiling turning into a mocking one, "Oh my god," Albedo rolled his eyes with a genuinely happy smile curved on his face.
The rest of the car ride back to Kaeya's motel was mostly laughs.
When they got to the parking lot of the motel, Kaeya walked Albedo to his car.
Albedo was still semi-laughing from the last joke Kaeya cracked, Albedo's lovely eyes glanced at Kaeya's for a moment, giving Kaeya yet again that same feeling from before.
"Oh, when we meet later tonight, can we meet up at the new Italian restaurant? I've been dying to go there." Albedo blurted without thinking, "Like a date?" Kaeya joked, at least, Albedo thought it was a joke.
Albedo laughed, "Yes, like a date.", Kaeya ruffled Albedo's hair, "I'll see you later tonight, blondie." Kaeya smugly smirked at him, Albedo gave him an unimpressed look but soon a small smile creeped onto his face.
They said their goodbyes and Albedo drove off.
Kaeya didn't understand why he felt so heartsick when he saw Albedo leave.
Kaeya sighed, the only conclusion he could come up with was the he had unfortunately fallen in love with him. And it scared him, loving a man as a man, that'll turn some heads.
Kaeya plopped onto the couch, "Leo, what would you do in this situation?", Leo meowed. "Right." Kaeya dug his face into a pillow.
I mean, when he looked at me like that, what would he had expected? If you gave anyone that type of look...they'd fall in love with you instantly.
Kaeya let his mind come up with every excuse he could think of.
Remembering that time in the car, Kaeya realized Albedo didn't share these feelings. Him pulling away and the quiet voice after the incident, they were obvious signs.
Kaeya promised himself that he'd push these feelings down to not ruin whatever he had with Albedo. Of course Albedo was special to him, just, as a friend. Nothing more. And Kaeya wanted nothing more.
Right?
