They reached the Albedo's car, it was black and looked fairly new.

"I'll see you tomorrow after work?" Albedo asked, "Yeah." Kaeya nodded, obviously nervous.

"Thank you for dinner also, by the way. I appreciate it, I usually just eat whatever in my fridge." Albedo laughed lightly, Kaeya smiled with a soft laugh.

"Well,"

"Bye." Albedo's eyes met Kaeya's, "Bye," It came off breathlessly.

They stared at each other for a moment longer before Albedo looked away and got in his car, he waved from the window (Kaeya waving back) and drove off.

Kaeya was left standing in the parking lot with bright smile plastered on his warm face.

"Where were you?" Childe asked with a full mouth raising an eyebrow, "Out, why?" Albedo gave the keys to the car he "borrowed" back to Childe, "Don't tell me you went on a date." Childe gave him an unimpressed (and slightly protective) look, "What? Of course not." Albedo took his coat off, "Wait, why are you in my apartment? And why are you eating my food?!" Albedo grabbed the container of food from Childe, "God, you're lucky I already ate." Albedo groaned and put it back in the fridge.

"Oh really?" Childe smug look made Albedo scoff, "It was a business related dinner." Albedo started the coffee machine.

"What kind of business?" Childe narrowed his eyes at Albedo's back as he tapped his finger on the counter.

"Enough about me," Albedo turned around and Childe's eyes immediately softened. "How'd things with Zhongli work out?" Albedo leaned up against the counter.

"Uh," Childe straightened his posture and rubbed the back of his head while avoiding direct eye contact.

"You didn't even talk to him, did you?" Albedo's tone and expression slipped into an unimpressed one.

"No, no I didn't" Childe guiltily laughed with a smile matching it.

"God," Albedo rolled his eyes.

"I'm not apologizing to him for you." "And, can you stop drawing smiley faces on the organ jars?" Childe took his coffee from the machine and took a sip, it was odd to Childe how Albedo could drink it while it was still incredibly hot.

"Whattt? How do you know that's me?" Childe pouted, "Because you're the only one who copied my keys, besides Tsaritsa." Albedo pushed his hair back and sighed.

"Finee. I guess it's no fun if you know it's me." Childe got up, right before leaving he glanced at Albedo, "Don't overwork yourself, okay?" He seemed genuine.

"Okay, sure." Albedo didn't take it too seriously.

Kaeya entered the department, looking more put together than ever before.

His shirt was tucked in and his coat had no wrinkles, his hair was put up into a neat high ponytail (even though his hair was still in his face), was his skin clearer too?

"Someone had an upgrade," One of his colleagues whistled at him, Kaeya ignored it and sat down at his desk.

He opened Miguels case file, along with his laptop and began working.
