Lisa
After Jong-Kook had finished briefing the Bravo team, Bambam took over, ready to discuss individual assignments with Lisa, Hoony and Marcus before they left for the day.
"Alright, let's talk assignments," Bambam started.
"I'll take Richard Kim, the primary, but the other three are up for discussion. Any preferences?"
I've got one, but if I open my mouth, I'll never hear the end of it.
"Dibs on Jin Kim." Hoony said quickly, causing all heads to turn and look at him.
"File says he runs a string of clubs and is quite the playboy party animal. Could be entertaining to say the least. Plus I'm not interested in attending tea parties and shopping sprees." Hoony continued.
"I'll take the step-mom." Marcus added, receiving nothing but an arched brow from Bambam.
"What can I say? Older women love me." Marcus said, before smirking at Lisa.
Marcus and Hoony are volunteering for the other two clients so I will be assigned to Jennie Kim... and I fucking love them for it.
Bambam dropped his pen onto the table and leaned back in his chair, giving the entire team a deadpan expression as he cocked his head to the side and let out an exasperated sigh.
"You think I don't know what you guys are doing? Do I look like an idiot?" Bambam said flatly, eyeing all three of us, waiting for one of us to admit it, but there was nothing except silence.
"Marcus, you're with Jennie Kim, Lisa, you're with Dara Kim," Bambam declared as he scribbled onto the notepad in front of him.
"Ah come on, Boss. Let Lisa have a little fun." Hoony said.
"This isn't a damn vacation Hoony, it's a job. I know Lisa would never fuck up an op, but why put the temptation there at all? Can't focus if you're drooling over women."
"I seem to remember you falling for Mina while working a job... drooled pretty hard yourself, but still handled business." Hoony was joking, but his tone changed as he challenged his friend.
Bad move Hoony... never ever bring up Mina.
Clenching his jaw, Bambam slowly turned his head towards Hoony who had his arms folded across his chest with a taunting smile smeared across his face.
This isn't gonna end well.
"Alright, alright, enough." Lisa finally said, holding her arms up and laughing at her stubborn teammates.
"Bam, assign me to whoever you want. I don't give a shit, okay?"
Leaving his eyes locked on Hoony for a few seconds more, Bambam turned his focus back to Lisa and gave her confirmation.
"Dara Kim." Bambam said flatly.
"Cool. Done." Lisa replied with a smile, trying to diffuse the situation by accepting the assignment without any questions asked.
Standing abruptly with his folder in hand, Bambam headed for the door before turning and pointing at Hoony.
"You play too much." Bambam said with the corner of his mouth lifting into a smile that was almost too small to notice.
"But that's why you keep me around." Hoony laced his fingers behind his head and leaned back against his chair with an arrogant smile.
"No. I keep you around because you can land a kill shot from two thousand meters." Bambam corrected him.
"Oh yeah. That too."
"Shit. I can do that for you, Bam. Go ahead and get rid of him." Marcus added with a wide grin and his arms folded across his chest.
"Hear that Hollywood? You're fired." Bambam joked as he left the conference room and headed down the hall.
As much as Lisa appreciated what Hoony and Marcus had attempted, she definitely didn't want them going to war with Bambam over it. Picking fights with the team leader the day before they left for an assignment wasn't going to help anyone.
"Jeez Hollywood, you've got a death wish or something?" Lisa chuckled.
"What? It's not my fault that he's got a stick up his ass about this assignment. I was just trying to help you out Doc. You know, let you be the knight in shining armour for your damsel in distress." Hoony waggled his eyebrows at Lisa who shrugged off the look and rolled her eyes in response, trying to play off how appealing the thought actually was.
The truth was, acting as Jennie Kim's knight in shining armour didn't sound half bad at all. Her mind started to run with that idea, pulling Lisa's thoughts toward various scenarios of Jennie throwing herself into Lisa's arms and thanking her for saving her life. Sappy, Hallmark-worthy shit totally derailed Lisa's train of thoughts, causing her to clear her throat and shake her head in an attempt to stop the flood of sentimental crap that had suddenly taken over her entire monkey brain.
I'm fucking pathetic. We have got to stop talking about this shit.
"We are still on for tonight?" Lisa desperately tried to change the subject.
"Yeah. Mina and Ji-eun picked a dive bar that's supposed to have really good food as our final send off."
"My kind of night." Marcus said.
