Lisa

As they reached the gravesite and exited the cars, Lisa watched Jennie tense and swallow hard against tears that were clearly building inside her. She was fighting against herself over control of her emotions, trying desperately to stay calm.

"It's okay for you to cry, Bug." Jin said softly.

"Not here. Not in front of them." she said coldly, motioning her head towards the people who were seated in front of the caskets.

"You can't cry in front of monsters, or they'll think they've won," she said to herself, as she sucked in and pushed out a hard breath.

The entire team stood by the cars, waiting for Jennie to make a move and once she did, they instantly moved into positions around her without having to be told what to do or where to go. They were a well-oiled machine that moved in unison around Jennie, taking in their surroundings with their heads constantly swivelling and their eyes analysing and cataloguing every detail around them.

Jennie was surrounded on all sides, unable to even see the large audience of people sitting in front of the caskets which was probably for the best because Lisa instantly picked Jiyong out in the crowd. That motherfucker is crying. Actually fucking crying like he hadn't orchestrated this whole fucking thing.

Jin's eyes settled on Jiyong at the same time as he took one step towards him before turning over his shoulder to look back at Jennie.

Now's not the time for revenge Jin - soon, but not now.

Hoony stepped in and placed a hand on Jin's shoulder giving it a squeeze and shooting Lisa a look that said - I've got this. Lisa's focus was solely on Jennie who was tucked under her arm tightly during the entire service as she clung to Lisa's shirt with shaking hands and strangled breaths.

When it was time for the caskets to be lowered, Jennie and Jin went up to say their goodbyes and Lisa could barely stand to watch the heart-breaking sight in front of her. Jin went first and spoke against his father's casket, letting a tear roll down the tip of his nose as he leaned forward onto the polished wood. Jennie wrapped him in her arms as he passed by her, sniffing and wiping harshly at his nose, allowing Jennie to go up and say her goodbyes next.

Lisa's heart ripped in two as she watched her Jennie approach her father's casket. It wasn't because she broke down crying or became hysterical, hell the entire team had expected that, but to everyone's surprise, it didn't happen. Lisa had prepared herself for Jennie to cry, or scream, or sob hysterically and was at the ready to help her at any moment, but the surprising sight before Lisa was much more gut-wrenching than she could have ever imagined.

Jennie stood, facing the crowd of onlookers and placed both hands on her father's casket in front of her, feeling the smooth polished wood beneath her hands as she leaned down and pressed a kiss onto the hard surface. She lifted her head slowly and squared her shoulders at the monsters and mobsters that populated the chairs in the crowd, making eye contact with every single cruel, dangerous man that was in attendance.

She's refusing to cry in front of them as a show of force and strength for her father. She's showing them that they haven't won. The look in her eyes was vicious and cutting - it was a look that said - 'I see who you all really are and I fucking hate you for what you've done to my family.'

Lisa's heart swelled with pride and shattered to pieces all at once for her brave, fearsome Jennie. She was staring down every man who had ever threatened her, who had taken her family from her and she wasn't scared - she was pissed. And as proud as Lisa was of Jennie's strength and bravery, she hated that Jennie couldn't mourn the death of her father the way that she needed to - the way she deserved to.

You have been so brave baby... now let me take you home.
