Lisa
A few hours later Jennie and the teams were getting settled in a small safe house that Eric had designated in a remote area where any traffic or movement would be out of the ordinary and easy to notice. They weren't naive enough to think no one would figure out where they were stashing Jennie, but if they were found they wanted to have all of the advantages. It was higher up on a hill with perfect vantage points in all directions with a roof terrace that was a sniper's paradise.
The group filed inside unloading equipment and weapons before they all sat down to discuss the events of the day and their plan for the night. "It makes perfect sense really. Why would Jiyong want to split Richard's empire with Jin? He wants it all for himself. So he's going to try to have someone else kill Jennie and make himself out to be the grieving closed family friend that's heartbroken over her death without being a suspect. It's not the first time that one of the jopoks has gone after the Kim family and no one would think it was out of the ordinary." Bambam mused at the table.
"So are we still going through with signing everything over to Jin? Or is that plan out the window at this point?" Hoony asked.
"I say if we can figure out a way to do it safely then we let Jennie follow through with the original plan of signing it over to Jin. At least that way the target is off of her back and we can work with Jin from there." Jong-kook said, getting an approving nod from Lisa. "I like that plan." Lisa said, willing to do anything to take Jiyong's focus off Jennie.
The teams tried to figure out the safest way to get that done and decided on a meeting in a public place of their choosing, that they could monitor and control would be the best way to get that accomplished, then to get Jennie and the rest of Bravo team on the first flight back to the United States as soon as it was signed.
As the early evening faded into night, the group sat around the living room of the house swapping funny stories, sending the snipers, Hoony and Ten, up to the roof to keep watch. Marcus was the third sniper on the team, but opted to stay with Jennie with Bambam's approval.
Ever since that day on the ridge, Marcus and Jennie had formed a heart-warming bond that Lisa was incredibly grateful for. Marcus was protective of all of the women that belonged to Bravo team, but his connection with Jennie was different. Their grief had connected them like family members and Lisa loved their dynamic and level of care and support for one another.
Jong-kook set the new time and place with Jin and the attorney who they knew was shady as hell so Jong-kook gave him a little extra incentive to be in his best behaviour, threatening to hunt him down and skin him alive before reciting his address to him over the phone.
Jennie let out a few big yawns and gave a lazy stretch of hare arms before she snuggled against Lisa's side, nuzzling her face against Lisa's neck as she laughed and joked with her teammates. Jennie's warm breath danced across her skin, sending goose bumps down Lisa's chest and arms as she drifted to sleep. Jennie's breathing was slow and even and Lisa felt her go completely lax against her body as she rested her cheek against the top of Jennie's head.
All we have to do is get through tomorrow, then your role in this will be over Jennie... you'll be safe.
"You got yourself a good one Doc," Jay B said, motioning to Jennie with his head. "Don't I know it." Lisa said with a grin. "That's rare you know. They aren't all good ones." Jay B replied with his voice dropping in tone. "Guessing that means you and Do-hyun called it quits?" Marcus asked.
"Had to man, she jumped my ass every time I had to leave for a job, calling me selfish and threatening me with ultimatums."
"Like what?" Bambam asked with his face pinched in confusion.
"Like if I was going to be gone all the time, she'd find someone who could satisfy her needs in the meantime." Jay B sighed and ran his hand through his hair all the way down to the back of his neck.
"Jesus, I can't imagine what I'd do if Mina acted like that." Bambam said.
"Yeah well they aren't all Minas, or Jennies or Ji-euns okay." Jay B chuckled.
"And if I don't get that right there..." Jay B pointed at Jennie asleep peacefully on Lisa's chest before he finished his sentence. ".... then I don't want it at all." Jay B said with a smile that was laced with pain. Lisa smiled and pulled Jennie against her a little tighter, hearing her breathe out a small hum of contentment next to her ear as she squeezed Jennie.
"What about Logan? Him and his girl still together?" Jong-kook asked.
"Shit we haven't seen Logan in months." Lisa said, looking at Bambam and Marcus.
"He's been on leave for a while and has shut us out completely. Nobody knows what his deal is. I mean we know he's dealing with some serious family shit, but we can't seem to understand why he has cut ties with us - his teammates."
Lucas shifted in his chair and shot his gaze to the ground, unwilling to look any member of Bravo team in the eye for a second or two.
"You know something about all that Lucas?" Marcus asked.
"It's not my place to share it." Lucas said flatly.
"What do you know Luc?" Bambam said in a low tone.
Letting out a sigh, Lucas locked eyes with Jay B and Jong-kook who gave him approving nods to reveal what he knew. "You're right, Logan is dealing with some hardcore family shit, and he's considering leaving the team for good because... he feels like he can't be part of it anymore, he's got too much guilt."
"Guilt?" Lisa asked with a confused expression.
"Guilt over what?" Marcus asked.
"You can't be serious." Lucas said, getting nothing but silence and confusion in return. "Mina? The boat house? Logan's job on that op was to clear the third structure... the one where Mina was being held. He said he'd been informed that his sister had been arrested again on the flight to that op and was emotionally compromised, but didn't tell anyone. He fucked up and didn't check the structure fully and missed Mina under that tarp. He blames himself for Mina's tremors and can't bring himself to face you Bam." Lucas said, looking over at Bambam.
The entire room was silent and turned into a waiting game of who was going to speak first.
"In his mind, if he would have just done his job, he would have found Mina, she would have never gone into that water, and wouldn't have a brain injury due to the lack of oxygen. He can hardly live with himself, Bam and he's currently drinking himself into oblivion over it." Jay B added.
"I'd be lying if I said a small piece of me doesn't blame him too... he fucked up and Mina paid the price for it, but at the end of the day we're brothers and he should be able to at least talk to me about it." Bambam said. "Tell him that would you?" Bambam added.
"Will do Boss." Lucas said, giving Bambam a nod of his head.
Lisa and the rest of Bravo team had been guilty of blaming him too, but Bambam was right. At the end of the day they were all in this together and none of them wanted to see Logan travel down a drunken spiral. They knew of too many brothers in arms who did stupid shit when they were drunk and depressed and none of them wanted Logan to become a statistic.
"Jeez, can we get a card game or something going? Shit's fucking depressing." Jong-kook said, trying to cut through the silence with humour.
"Only if you've got some cash to lose." Marcus said with a grin, giving Bambam a squeeze on the shoulder as he stood and pulled a deck of cards from his bag on the floor.
The men followed Marcus to the table leaving Lisa and Jennie on the couch. Closing her eyes, Lisa let Jennie's scent wrap around her as she inhaled against Jennie's hair. She fit so perfectly against her side, it was almost as if Jennie was made just for her. Warm contentment spread through her chest as she thanked her lucky stars for her sweet Jennie and just as she was about to nod off to sleep, Hoony's voice sounded through all of the radios.
"Bravo One, I've got movement outside."
