Lisa

"I wish I could have met her." Jennie said in a hushed voice that pulled at Lisa's heart.

"You may not have met her, but she's most certainly met you." Lisa soothed.

"What do you mean?"

"My dad told me that right after she died, we went up to D.C. to meet with her colleagues there and gather her things from her office - her office on the corner of Connecticut and First." Lisa started. Jennie tensed her muscles behind Lisa at the mention of her father's office building address.

"I don't really remember a whole lot about that day because I was in pretty bad shape. I was so busted up about my mom that I stopped talking... until a little dark haired girl with green eyes asked me about my toy horses..."

"That was you?" Jennie whispered.

Lisa sat up and faced Jennie, turning herself so she could get her arms around Jennie. "Yeah baby. I had completely blocked out those memories, but dad recognised you instantly. Said he thought you were an angel at the time because you were the first person who had gotten me to talk or smile in days."

"I remember that day." Jennie said in a voice barely over a whisper.

"I was playing in the lobby with my mom, bored out of my mind while my dad was in a meeting. I saw you sitting by yourself and you looked so sad. I'd never seen anyone look so sad before so I went over and asked you about the horses you had in your hands. You told me about them and how to take care of horses in real life. I asked you if any of your horses had ever kicked you and you said no, but you told me about a mean sheep that would head-butt you when your back was turned named..."

"Buster." they both said in unison.

"I remember that day so well because I didn't want to leave you. When we had to go I wanted you to come with us and I cried and cried. I told my mom I wanted a farm with lots of animals as soon as we got in the car. I even took it so far that my mom was planning on building stables on our estate, loving the idea of having horses... but when she died, my father refused. He said that continuing on with that project would be too painful and would never take me to see or ride horses in South Korea because the pain was too great."

They sat there in silence, taking in each other's words in complete amazement of how intertwined their lives had been since they were children. It was almost too well orchestrated to be true, as if someone had reached down from the heavens and pushed them into each other's lives, organising every detail that would bring them together.

"You can still have a farm if you want one Jennie." Lisa said softly as she laced her fingers into Jennie's hair behind her neck, bringing her face closer to Jennie's. She smiled at Lisa's words and leaned in, letting her lips lightly graze Lisa's before she spoke again. "We could stay here Jennie, make a life here, you and me." Lisa offered with her lips nearly touching Jennie's.

"But what about your job? The team?" Jennie asked with her brows drawing in.

"Just say the word and I'll walk away." Lisa said, pressing her forehead against Jennie's.

"You'd do that for me?" Jennie asked in amazement.

"I'd do anything for you Jennie girl, anything." Lisa said firmly.

She smiled against Lisa's lips and closed the space between them, leading with her soft tongue making gentle contact with Lisa's bottom lip before her lips fully sealed against hers. Tightening her grip on the back of Jennie's neck, Lisa deepened their kiss, taking her time with long lazy passes of her tongue between Jennie's sweet lips, massaging her velvet tongue with hers. Jennie hummed a soft sweet hum of contentment against Lisa's mouth and the vibration set her heart on fire.

As they slowly came back down to earth and broke their connection, Jennie cupped the sides of Lisa's face as she caught her breath, taking her swollen bottom lip between her teeth as she grinned at Lisa.

"I'd never ask you to give up something you love for me Lisa. And I know you love your job and love your team." Jennie said with a smile.

"But I love you more." Lisa confirmed, loving the bright smile that her words had caused.

"I know that too... but you can have both. You can do what you love and love me too. I don't have to be here to be happy. I just have to be where you are... I go where you go Lisa Manoban."

And with those little words, Lisa's heart nearly exploded. She was overwhelmed with love and had found the missing piece that made her feel whole again. Jennie was everything she had never needed and now that she was part of Lisa's future, the rest of her life couldn't get started fast enough. Jennie was hers and her heart almost couldn't handle the privilege.

"Is that okay with you?" Jennie giggled, unable to read Lisa's expression.

"Yes ma'am." Lisa said with a full heart as she pressed her lips against Jennie's, leaning her back against the tree as Lisa consumed her in a loving kiss.

You did good mom. Jennie is perfect.
