Lisa
A few hours later, Lisa was three beers in, having just eaten the best cheeseburger she'd ever consumed, watching Hoony try to teach his Ji-eun how to throw darts, which was comical to say the least. Hoony threw his head back with laughter as Ji-eun launched her first dart straight into the wall, missing the entire board by about two feet.
Perfect irony for a sniper's girlfriend to have absolutely zero aim.
"Hope this place has insurance, Ji-eun," Lisa said from her barstool.
"Shut it Lisa." Ji-eun sassed with a determined smile.
Swivelling her barstool around, Lisa leaned back onto the bar with her elbows, looking forward to Ji-eun's next attempt at throwing darts when Marcus spoke up from beside her.
"He's in a much better mood." Marcus said, motioning with his head toward Bambam who had Mina tucked away in the corner, kissing on her neck.
"Yeah no shit."
"I can't say I blame him for acting like an ass though. I mean to go from planning Mina's proposal to having to leave her for five weeks just put a thorn in his side." Lisa added.
Of course Bambam was in a better mood, but it was no mystery as to why. Mina was around. Lisa watched as her controlling team leader dissolved and transformed into a loving boyfriend in a matter of minutes, with his serious scowl now tipped into a lazy smile - a smile that only Mina could draw out from Bambam.
Lisa couldn't help but grin at her teammate's new found love and happiness, but she'd be lying if she said she didn't secretly envy that type of connection. She had never felt even a fraction of what Bambam felt for Mina or what Hoony felt for Ji-eun, there was only surface level satisfaction for Lisa so far.
Temporary infatuation and lust was about it for Lisa with anything deeper seeming just beyond her reach. She watched Bambam and Mina love on each other in the corner as if they were the only two people on earth and wondered what that kind of love and contentment felt like.
Her sentimental thoughts were interrupted by Marcus' deep voice, warning Lisa that someone was approaching her. "Incoming on your three." Marcus grumbled before taking a swig of his beer.
Lisa immediately turned her head over her right shoulder just as a loud, over dramatic voice assaulted her ears. "Liiiiiissaaaaaa!!" Nancy practically sang her name as she walked up to the bar beside Lisa.
I've never heard my short name broken up into so many annoying syllables before.
"What's up Nancy?" Lisa said with a forced half-smile.
"I haven't been able to get a hold of you. I've been missing my favourite soldier," she hummed leaning in close to Lisa and ran her hand up and down the muscles beneath the sleeve. Lisa winced at Nancy's words as if they had physically harmed her.
Soldier? Definitely not a soldier and definitely not yours.
"Navy." Lisa said before tipping her beer and downing the rest of its contents.
"What?"
"I was in the Navy. Soldiers are in the Army." Lisa corrected Nancy as politely as she could. Nancy rolled her eyes and scoffed, unfazed and annoyed by Lisa's correction.
"Aye Aye Captain," she said sarcastically.
Oh hell no. I'm not in the mood for this shit... just smile Lisa, try not to be an asshole.
Having slept with Nancy just a few weeks prior after a drunken night out, Lisa tried to remain cordial and polite, but Nancy sure wasn't making it easy. She had called her a few times wanting to reconnect, but Lisa always seemed to find an excuse not to.
