Jennie
A few hours later Lisa had a smile on her face as she got Jennie settled into the big king sized bed with an iPad in one hand and her phone in the other. "Mina wants to have a movie night - you down?" Lisa said with a smile as she wrapped an arm around Jennie and pulled her up against her side.
"Sure." Jennie agreed, loving the feeling of Lisa's skin against hers.
Lisa gave her a smile and paired her iPad to the TV screen in front of them, pulling up Netflix before she Facetimed Mina.
Jennie watched the small screen illuminate showing Mina's face laying on Bambam's shoulder. "Jennie!" Mina said happily as Lisa pointed the phone in her direction. "I figured we'd have to do movie nights like this until you get here." Mina said turning the phone toward another couch that held Hoony and Ji-eun. "We can't wait for you to get here so we can have a girls night!" Ji-eun added with a bright smile.
"Just for the record, I hate the movie you guys picked," Bambam chuckled from the background. "Oh come on Bam, you aren't a fan of romantic comedies?" Lisa laughed. "What about you Hollywood?"
"Me? Oh I don't give a shit. I've got zero plans to actually watch this movie." Hoony said as he covered both he and Ji-eun with a blanket with Ji-eun's playful laughter filling the room. "Jesus." Bambam chuckled as he and Mina threw pillows across the room at Hoony and Ji-eun.
Jennie was smiling ear to ear as she watched the hilarious antics of her new friends and suddenly wished that she and Lisa were there.
"There's our girl." Mina said to Jennie, smiling at the phone before she sat up with excitement.
"I almost forgot! I sent Marcus and Jin to go get something for you while they were out today." Mina said with a wide smile.
Marcus heard his name and must have known it was his cue to enter with a bag that contained every snack food imaginable. He came in alone, letting Jin get some rest after Lisa gave him some pain medicine for his hand.
"Can't have a movie night without snacks." Mina said.
I see what you're doing.
Marcus planted himself on the other side of Jennie and spread the snacks out as he made himself comfortable in the bed and leaned back on the pillows beside her. "What are we watching?" Marcus asked, grabbing a bag of chips and opening them.
"Some romantic comedy." Bambam grumbled with an eye roll before Mina gave him a playful slap on the shoulder. Lisa was the next to grab a bag of snacks, choosing Jennie's favourite mixed popcorn. Reaching over, Lisa flicked the lights off and started the movie, pulling Jennie close and resting her cheek against Jennie's head.
Jennie laid against Lisa's chest, and breathed in her scent as she snuggled up next to Lisa. She tried to focus on the movie, but could only think about how normal she felt at the moment, which was surprising. For a few brief minutes, Jennie felt whole again, like life wasn't so scary. She reached her hand into the bag of mixed popcorn, noticing Lisa and Marcus exchange quick glances with one another. Picking out the caramel pieces, Jennie popped two of them in her mouth and was surprised when her stomach didn't immediately reject them. She ate a few more pieces which only seemed to make her hungrier and she surveyed the pile of snacks looking for something else to ease her sudden hunger.
Lisa and Marcus opened bag after bag of snacks and handed them to her, trying but failing to conceal their excitement that she was finally eating. She wasn't eating very much, but she was sampling from each bag, taking a few bites before she'd stop and watch the movie and saw Mina shoot Lisa a wink through the Facetime feed.
With her stomach and her heart full, Jennie let her head go heavy on Lisa's chest and felt herself slowly drift in and out of sleep.
"Don't fight it. Sleep if you need to Jennie girl." Lisa whispered in her ear.
Nodding against Lisa's chest, Jennie felt her muscles relax one by one, releasing the tension and sadness they had been holding. She took in the sight around her one final time, trying to capture the moment in her heart of her friends - of her family that was surrounding her in support.
This. This is home. I'm not alone... far from it.
