Chapter 17

I watched as Damon left the house and snuck in to get the blood packets. I found them and took 3, just incase Elijah is starving. I left and went back to the carnival and stayed near Elena until night fall.

I seen Elijah and made my way over and handes him the packets without anyone seeing. He thankes me before drinking all 3 of them. Yeah, he was starving. I smiled before hugging him. "I need to get back to Elena, like you said, watch over her." He smiled before letting me leave. I smiled at him before returning to Elena.

She was talking to Stefan and Damon. I stayed near my cousin as I listened. Apparently Caroline is a vampire now and Katherine said 'Game on'. Damon said he was going to kill Caroline, I moved faster than ever and punched him hard. My face said everything, I was mad and in protective mode.

I left with Elena and Stefan. We walked around for a while, Stefan was getting agitated so I left them be and seen Damon and Caroline. I ran over and tackled him before shouting for Caroline to run. She went to run but Stefan grabbed her and Elena tried talking to her. Damon went to stab me with a stake he found, I grabbed his arm and gripped tightly.

"Damon... Damon... Damon... I keep my friends safe, that includes ones that have been changed." I was in a dangerous mood, I let him go and looked at Caroline. "You're gonna be ok. We're here to help."

Bonnie came over and touched her arm before walking off. Elena went to talk to her while Stefan helped Caroline with her blood mark. I walked to the body on the truck and moved it to a private area before burying it and walking back to see Bonnie torturing Damon. Even if I hate him, I heard Elena tell her to stop. She went over and stopped her while I ran to Damon and helped him with the burns.

I walked away afterwards and enjoyed the carnival. I played a few games, won zero times and went to the ferris wheel and got on. I watched the sky and let out a few tears. My friend was now a vampire, she never wanted to be one.

Once I got home, I went to my room, kicked off my shoes and lied on my bed. I held my face in the pillow before crying silently. I fell asleep and had the nightmare from my childhood. I woke up sweating and panting for life. I got up and went for a shower before getting changed into a blue blouse and black jeans. I put on my boots and left the house. I called Elijah, he had some questions to answer.

"Hello, Elijah?" I was still slightly panting from the nightmare, he picked up on it.

"Isabelle, what happened? Are you ok?" I heard a whooshing sound and knew he was on his way.

"I'm coming over. We need to talk." I felt bad having to say those words so I panicked and hung up. I made my way to the cabin house and knocked.

Elijah opened the door and I walked in quickly. I heard him slowly close the door and walk over to me. I stayed away and looked at him, his eyes showed concern, it hurt and I don't know why.

"Where you there when my mother was killed?" I moved towards the door as he stayed silent. I knew it! I grabbed the handle for the door but felt a hand on my back while I saw another on the door.

"Isabelle, let me explain, please." His tone was apologetic, he took my hand and moved me to the couch. I refused to look at him as he sat next to me. "My brother, he wants you, your power. He wants you on his side, to be a weapon against anything that gets in his way. I never want to burn your house or harm your mother, believe me."

He placed a hand on my lap but I pushed it away and got up. I moved away and looked at him. "You still killed her... You still killed my mother Elijah, how could you not tell me?"

He looked up but stayed silent, it made me more mad. My fins showed and my nails grew out. I made the lights flicker and spark. "You and your brother are monsters! Leave Mystic Falls and go back to where ever you came from!" I ran to the door and opened it I felt a hand on my arm.

"Isabelle..."

"Let. Me. Go."

"Please-"

"NO!" I pulled my arm from him and move away. "LEAVE ME ALONE! IF I SEE YOU, I WILL KILL YOU! YOU KILLED MY MOTHER AND I BET YOU KILLED MY FATHER TOO! LEAVE MYSTIC FALLS AND NEVER RETURN!" I ran all the way home and locked myself in my room for weeks, crying, hating myself for not saving my parents and mostly regretting all the time I spent with Elijah.

I woke up one day and dragged myself out the room to the kitchen. I grabbed some sushi and ate it as Jeremy walked over.

"So she is alive-" He went to joke about but I wasn't having it.

"Jeremy, not in the mood to joke... Where is Elena?" He pointed upstairs so I made my way to Elena's room amd walked in. "What has been happening the past few days?"

"Days? Try two full weeks of no eating or coming out your room. All we heard was you crying. We couldn't help you, all we could do is listen. What happened?" She got up and grabbed my arm gently. I hugged her and couldn't stop crying.

"I thought I could trust him but he is the reason my parents aren't here." I spoke with a sore throat, cracking voice and sobs here and there. "He killed them, him and his brother. He is a vampire and a monster."

"Izza..." I felt her hug back and we stayed in comftable silence for a while before we split apart and she told me what has been happening. "Caroline is controlling her vampirism but Katherine had her under her control, Damon is being a huge jerk, Bonnie is still hating vampires but is starting to help us, Alaric and Jenna are together and Katherine is being more of a danger."

"Oh my god, I... I'm so sorry for not being here. I'm gonna shower, eat again and leave on a search for Katherine. Text anything and I will come find you ok?" She nodded and I left to shower before getting changed in a black top, jeans, leather jacket and my black boots. I grabbed my purse and left. I went to the hairdressers and got my hair cut short before starting my search.
