Chapter 3

The festival was a bust, thought so. I just held a candle and walked about. Vicki went missing but Stefan found her and she was alright. Jenna told me to sleep on the couch instead of in the garage, just so she can keep an eye on me.

I got woke up by Jeremy hitting me with a pillow to the face. He laughed, clearly still high, I sat up as he ran off and yawned. I got up and walked to the kitchen and grabbed an apple, as soon as Jeremy walked over I threw it at him and laughed.

"Morning Jeremy, payback is a bitch." I ate another apple and watched him walk over to get breakfast as well. I slept better than I did in a while. Maybe because Jenna didn't leave my side.

"Morning." Jeremy was even smiling for once. It made me happy.

We all got ready for school and made our way there. Jeremy went a different way than me and Elena, probably to see Vicki or to get more high. Elena convinced me to join the cheerleaders, I had a club to do at lunch, so I wasn't alone. I was fine being alone, I guess she is just looking out for me.

I walked to class like everyday but Stefan stopped me, he was a friend of Elena's so it confused me. He waited until the halls were empty before speaking.

"You and Damon had a problem and you seemed to have made him fly away. How?" I saw a look in his eyes, curious and something else, I can't name it.

"I'm sure he's just exaggerating what happened. Probably not the kind of guy to be rejected." I started to walk ahead of him and went into class.

I took my seat and class began. The break was full of Stefan and Elena talking to me, I ended up going to the field and sat under the bleachers to be alone. Lunch was entertaining, it was cheerleader practice.

I stretched with all the girls before standing to the side and watching them all do their routine. Elena was iffy on the routine and was told to stand to the side by Caroline. I seen Elena walk to the bleachers and watched the guys practice. I watched the routine and understood it. I grabbed ahold of the bleachers and pulled myself up before sitting on the bars to watch the players. Stefan was really good, no wonder why Elena likes him.

The rest of the day was boring as hell. As soon as home bell went I walked away from the school and went home. Bonnie was staying for dinner so Elena and her were cooking. I say cooking when it was buying food and serving it. I was on the couch watching TV when the door went. Elena went over to see and there was Stefan.

The girls ate while I made myself a little blanket bed on the couch to draw. I thought back to the memory, the guy named Klaus, I started to draw him, making sure nobody was looking.

The door went again so Elena went and answered. It was Damon and Caroline. Stefan made a fuss and Elena invited Damon in. They all started to hang out so I went to the dining table while they stole the living room. I heard Caroline talk insensitive about Elena's parents. I got up and closed my drawing book before walking over and sat next to Elena, I held her hand gently before looking sweetly at Caroline.

I felt anger burning in my throat. After a while it never left like it normally does. Elena went to the kitchen and a few seconds Damon followed her. I just glares at Caroline.

"What is your problem?" She sounded like she never knew it.

"Never, and I mean never, talk so brash like that again. I will make you and that asshole you have with you leave." I got up before walking to the window and looked quietly at my reflection. My ears were showing slightly, I fixed my hair to cover them before leaving to the garage.

I sat on the bed and heard them all leave after a while. Elena went to her bed while I stayed up. I couldn't sleep, a vampire was in my home. But cheerleading was tomorrow, and Elena got me the outfit. I will have to do with no sleep, I'm good with it a simple incantation and I will be awake.

I walked with Elena, she wasn't in uniform while I was. I seen Stefan so I left Elena alone and walked about. I seen other cheerleaders and caught up to them. I waved shyly and stayed to myself. I had my necklace on, there was no way I would do this without it.

I seen from the corner of my eyes Caroline and Elena talking. I walked over and Caroline took me to where the cheerleaders go. It was late but that didn't stop us from cheering for our team, Timberwolves.

I heard a fight over the cheering and ran over. Tyler and Jeremy was fighting. Stefan intervined, Jeremy grabbed a glass and went to attack Tyler but got Stefan instead. I smelt the blood, but when Elena checked it was gone. Healed like nothing. Could he also be one?

I went with the cheerleaders and helped set up the breakaway Timberwolves thing. The teams came running through and we went to our spot to cheer them on during the game. I seen Elena talking with Damon from the corner of my eye. I seen her slap him and smiled.

After the incident, I went to talk to Stefan but seen him and Damon talking. I hid and silently watched them as the coach walked over to talk to Stefan. Damon bit into his neck and I covered my mouth as I saw the life drain from Mr. Tanner.

The body dropped to the ground and Damon sped away while Stefan stayed. I kept hidden while Stefan left after a while and saw Matt come out. He ran back in shouting for help. I stopped hiding and ran. When cops showed up I went to Stefan and pulled him to the side.

"I saw what happened...are you and your brother vampires?" My voice was low and quiet.

He went to try and compell me to forget it but it didn't work. He seen Elena and walked over to her to talk to her and comfort her.

After the police were done, we all went home. I went to the Salvatore's instead. I hit the door quite harshly and a man oppened it. The same man I hated to see. Damon.
