"You are covered in paint. Go take a bath now." I walked over to the vampire before putting paint on his cheek and walking away.
I heard footsteps before I was grabbed and held close. I laughed before looking up and smiling. "Thank you. For finding me, taking me in and allowing me to go through grief without any problems. And thank you for allowing me to turn a room into a nice little art studio. I never thought a vampire would be so caring towards me."
"Your welcome and being different isn't always easy. I thought you could use a friend." I saw him smile and his eyes turn slightly before he let me go and went to walk away.
"How about I take a shower and you can have some of my blood?" I took his hand, he looked at me before shaking his head and leaving. "Maybe I can do something for him, so he doesn't need to leave when we are having fun. Also his suit had paint on it."
I spoke to myself before putting on music and going for a relaxing bath. I took my clothes off before getting in the bath. I sang along to the song while scrubbing the paint off my skin. I soon washed my hair and body properly before leaving the bath and wrapping myself in a towel.
I walked out the bathroom, still singing and went to my room. I dried my body and hair before putting on a white blouse with black jeans. I grabbed a hair drier, before I could use it my friend walked in and handed me some flowers. I took them and put them in the vase by my bed. He'd bring flowers when the one's I had started dying. It always made me smile.
He pulled me into a hug before drying my hair and walking to the living room. He took his suit jacket off and sat it down before looking at me. I grabbed a cloth and soaked it before dealing with the paint on his face.
"Elijah, you left with pain on your suit and face. You could have changed then left." He took my arm before moving it gently and looked at me.
"You would have tried convincing me to bit you." He was right. I moved away and grabbed the jacket before holding a hand out to him. "Let me guess, shirt as well?"
"Yes. I'm gonna clean them. You should go change into more comfy clothes and relax. I need to go out for something." He took his shirt off so I looked away.
I felt fabric on my hand so I grabbed it and went to the kitchen. I heard him walk upstairs, I checked the clothes to see if they were washing machine safe, the shirt was the jacket was not. I put the shirt in and put in what was needed before turning it on and got started on hand cleaning the jacket.
As soon as I was done getting the paint off the jacket and cleaning it fully, I put it outside on a clothes line to dry it. I felt someone hug me from behind and rest their head on mine.
"What is it that you need to do?" I looked at a tree and not him.
"I uh... I wanna get you a blood stash. So you don't need to leave everytime your hungry, only when you need to keep an eye on your brother. By the way!" I looked up at him as he lowered his to meet me. "When can I meet your family, you said this place was there and I feel bad for living in it without thanking them."
"Tell you what. Paint them anything and I will take it to them and bring back a gift. If they see you, you will be in danger, ok?" He stopped hugging me before moving back into the house and looking at me. I followed him in before nodding my head. "You hungry?"
"A little but not enough to need to be fed. Why don't we watch a movie?" I made my way to the couch and heard his footsteps follow.
Before I could sit down I felt an arm around me and quickly I was at the door. I blinked my eyes before looking up at Elijah. He just smiled before walking out, dragging me along with him. I stayed quiet, curious on where he was taking me.
Soon we stopped at a beach like area, it was small but still big enough to hold a party of some sort. I looked at him while he stared at the ocean. I followed his gaze and saw a boat going neer pointy rocks then I heard it... another siren.
I took off my shoes, jeans and blouse before jumping into the water and swimming over to the rocks. I thought of the only thing that could help, use the wind to try and stear the boat to safety. So I tried but it was in vein, the siren kept singing. Their voice got closer to me before I knew it the siren was in front of me and grabbing my neck.
I pushed them back and sang louder than they did, the people on the boat started going the opposite way. They were safe, I got pulled under the water. I looked at the siren, they looked so much worse than I did, they looked fully siren. I hit them with my tail and screamed sending them backwards. I started swimming to the shore.
The siren caught me and before I could push them away they scratched my tail causing blood to show. I grabbed the siren and bit into their neck, drawing more blood into the ocean. I ripped my head back and spat their skin out before sending them away with the wind. I swam to shore and pulled myself onto land. I died quickly and put my clothing on. I stopped halfway with my jeans when I saw blood.
"You got hurt..."
"I'm fine, Elijah." I pulled my jeans up and whinced in pain. I looked at the ocean and sighed. "The people are ok, that's all that matters. The siren controlling them, won't do it again in this area. We should get-Hey! Put me down!"
Elijah picked my up, bridal style, and started walking home. I gave up trying to get out his grip and just rested my head on his shoulder. I looked up at him and saw his eyes change before going back to normal. He was getting hungry, probably from my injury. When we got into the house he took me to my room before walking out.
I took the jeans off and grabbed a pair of black shorts and put them on, they were short shorts so the injury was seeable. Elijah walked back in with a first aid kit before placing it beside me and motioning for me to see my leg. I seen his eyes change and change back again. I placed a gentle hand on his shoulder before smiling softly at him.
"I can deal with it, why not go hunt?" He shook his head before starting to clean the blood from my leg and bandaging the claw mark. "Ah! Too tight! Ow!"
"Sorry but it will help stop the bleeding without having to stitch up the wound." He looked up at me, his eyes changed again but stayed. I seen pain in his eyes before he got up to walk away.
I got up and grabbed his arm. "Elijah..." I spoke softly but he turned sroind and the next thing I knew I was thrown into a wall and landed on my bed. "Fuck!"
"Don't. Just do-" I cut him off by getting up and hugging him. I held him tightly, I felt him hug back before feeling fangs scratch my neck. "I..."
"Drink some, Elijah, you need it. Please..." I felt his fangs scratch my neck again. I moved my head to the side and almost instantly he bit down. I closed my eyes and let it happen.
I soon felt him stop and just hold me like I was fragile. I looked at him and smiled at him. He smiled slightly back. I wiped the blood from his lip as he used his sleeve to wipe the blood from my neck.
"Don't ever let me do that again. Under no circumstances, ok?"
"Elijah, you saved me from being lost in the woods and took me here. You also saved me when I was younger and trapped under a root. I was panicing so much my magic made the root tighten. I don't care how long it takes, I'm going to repay you. This repays saving me as a kid." I smiled as he let me go. I walked out the room and to the kitchen to grab some fish to eat. It always helped me fix my cravings and injuries.
I realized me and Elijah acted more like family instead of friends, it brought comfort but I thought back to Elena, Jeremy and Jenna. They must be worried like hell. Maybe I should go back to them...
