Chapter 42

I walked into town and bought some ice cream. I ate it while walking about until my phone rang. I answered it without checking the ID and immediately wanted to hang up.

"I need to talk to you about your new friend Klaus." I groan before licking my ice cream and walking about.

"Damon, what do you want?"

"He had someone kidnap Bonnie to tell Klaus where the coffins were. Why didn't you tell him you knew?"

"Because...family comes first. If I keep being on Klaus' side he'll soon trust me enough to tell me his plan and I can warn you if it's something big and life threatening. Do you have the weapon coffin?"

"Yes, I moved it and Bonnie is alright so is Elena." I smiled even if he couldn't see it.

"Thanks Damon, take care." I hung up and finished my ice cream before going back to my walk.

I walked home well my second home, the Salvatore house. I have four at this point, Elena's, the Salvatore's, the cabin and Klaus' home. I walked in to see Damon and Stefan.

I moved past Stefan and hugged Damon, thanking him for keeping Elena safe. He patted my back before smiling making me move back and question his look.

"I have a gift for you." He showed me a dagger making me more confused. "Someone is back-"

"YOU DEDAGGERED ELIJAH?!" He nodded and my smile grew and grew before I hugged him tightly again and thanking him repeatedly. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

"Okay, I'd like to be a hearing vampire and not a deaf one." I let him go and apologised before asking where he was. "Klaus most likely-and she's going."

"I need to keep Elijah safe, Klaus might hurt him." I closed the door as I left and used my wind to get to Klaus' home quicker.

It's big white walls were the first I seen before landing and opening the door. I walked in and called out for Klaus, soon I heard the two brothers talking so I walked over and stood at the door. Elijah was back and he really didn't look any different, still handsome as ever. I looked around and seen a broken door and tables, lovely family reunion.

"Isabelle, I thought for sure Klaus would have killed you..." I moved towards him before smiling softly.

"How could he hurt someone he knows cares about him? I heard what your father said to him, that nobody cared for him, it made sence why he's a jerk so I took his hand and stood up to your father even if that bastard deserverd worse than death for how he treated you all." I seen Elijah smile softly back at me before looking to Klaus.

"Have you been torturing her in any way?" I moved between the vampires and let a growl out making Elijah look at me.

"I haven't harmed her brother, just her friends and family." I glared at Klaus before speaking back at him.

"Which he never should have done because it makes my hate meter rise and my care meter drop. Klaus, if it wasn't for Elijah being your brother, I would have killed you even if I care about you." Klaus backed off before looking at Elijah as his hand rested on my shoulder. "I'm glad your back Elijah, you and your brither should catch up, I'll get you some blood."

"Thank you, my dear." I walked away and looked around the house for any blood, apart from the compelled humans there was none.

I grabbed the window and opened it before using my wind to aid me to the cabin. I walked to the fridge and took some blood packs and went back to Klaus'. I went back in through the window and walked back to Elijah and Klaus before handing them both blood.

While they caught up, I cleaned the broken tables and door up before closing the window and walking about the giant building. I walked back to the brothers after finding nothing to do.

"Your house is boring!" I walked to Klaus and looked at him. "Get better things."

"I will, angel. But you don't need better things to be happy, do you?" He smiled as Elijah walked over.

"True. Oh Elijah, your room in the cabin-" I went quiet as I looked at him, he wore a blue suit and tie and stood with one hand in his pocket. "Damn."

"Damn?" I shook my head and smiled at Elijah before moving to him and giving him a hug. I felt his arms wrap around my back as his head rested on mine. "I missed you too, Isabelle."

"You look nice in blue is what the 'Damn' is about." I felt his chest vibrate from his chuckle. "Oh! Right your room!" I moved back from him and smiled brightly. "I changed it, it's more modern but it is still you. I kept the cabin clean and tidy like I said I would."

"A lady of her word." Elijah fixed his suit before walking to the door. "I need to go do something, Klaus do not harm her." With that he left, I felt my heart sink but I knew he'd have business to deal eith when he came back.

"He'll come back, angel." I glared at him before leaving the building. I walked about for a while before sitting in a graveyard and looked around for no reason.

I hummed a random tune before hearing my phone ring. I answered it to hear Elena's panicked voice. I tried calming her down but it didn't work.

"Elena! Calm down please!" I sighed after she did and she told me everything.

"Okay, I'm calm. A medical examiner was killed with a stake through the heart but he wasn't a vampire. Me and Caroline found her dad, he was stabbed and his throat was cut. He's a vampire now but won't drink blood. We think it could be a doctor at the hospital, Dr. Fell." Elena was still panicked but I understood. I made my way home before walking in and hanging up. I seen Alaric place down his weapons and Elena left the room.

"Belle..." I walked over and shushed him before smelling the blood on a dagger.

"Human, Caroline's dad. You took the weapon from a crime scene?"

"No. No. Just...wanted to see if it matched. It did." He looked down making me sigh. "She might be killing people."

"I can compelle her to tell me the truth if you like..."

"You hate compelling so no." Alaric picked up the weapons and put them in a bag, I helped before getting a text.

I looked at it and smiled 'I'm having dinner with Klaus, Damon and Stefan. Want to join in, my dear? -Elijah' I put the last weapon away and replied 'yes' before telling Alaric I needed to go. I went to Klaus' home and walked in before going to all the men sitting at a table.
