Chapter 53

I've beeen lying in bed for days, Kol gave up and left while Elijah is doing nothing but trying to comfort me. He held me close to him as tears fell again, I couldn't believe he was gone. Elena was calling everyday but I ignored her, only crying, breaking things or trying to go outside into the sunlight wirhout my ring.

I felt terrible, Elijah didn't deserve me trying to end my life. After he stopped me for the 6th time I noticed it hurt him more that it would ever hurt me so I stopped trying. I held tighter as the uege to run outside got higher. I took his hand tightly, he knew what it ment. He rubbed my hand gently and slowly soothed me to my calm but wrecked form.

"Can we try eating today?" I nodded as he got up. I held onto his pillow as he left. "I'll be right back, okay dear?" I nodded again before feeling my throat clench at the thought of eating. I didn't want to but I had to.

He came back and handed me a packet while placing the others beside the bed. I bit into the packet, the blood dripping into my mouth, the hunger finally taking over as I drank the packet dry. He handed me another and another until I was full and better.

"Thank you...for not giving up on me, for not leaving me alone, for being with me through this. Alalric wouldn't want me to be this bad... he'd want me to move on... be who I am, right?"

"Of course he would but he'd want you to grieve him aswell. Take your time my angel, I am not going anywhere until you feel better." I smiled at him before kissing his lips gently and looking to the window. "I missed your voice."

"Couldn't really speak when my throat felt as dry as a desert." I looked to him before sighing. "I'm sorry for putting you through hell."

"Darling, you could stab me with a stake and I'd still come back to be here for you." He took my hands before leading me towards the bathroom. "Now, go for a shower. Elena has been calling and she called me when you were sleeping. She wants to see you about something important."

"Okay. Can you pick out my clothes? I... I just wanna focus on not smelling like a corpse." He kissed my cheek before smiling and walking off. I got in the shower after taking of the clothes I wore for days. I turned the hot water on before cleaning my body and hair. "Oh, Elijah! Can we leave a seat for Alaric at the wedding? I still wanna have a place for him!"

"Of course we can." I heard the door open as clothing was placed down. "Don't forget to put on your ring."

"I won't forget." I stepped out the shower and wrapped the towel around my self. "You can even make sure before I leave."

"...Isabelle, please be careful today." I walked to him before kissing his cheek.

"I will, don't worry." He left as I dried myself off and put the clothing on. I walked to our room and blowdried my hair before brushing it and putting it up. I put on the lapiz ring and the engagement ring before grabbing my bag and going down the stairs.

I put shoes on before showing Elijah I had the ring on. He kissed my cheek before holding up the wedding folder. "I'll work on this, call me if you feel upset or need me okay, love?"

"Okay." I walked to the door and left before going to Elena's only to see she's not there. I looked for her in town then went to the Salvatore home. I walked in and immediately smelt her. I ran over and hugged her tightly. "Hi."

"Can't...breath..." I let her go before stepping back. "You came..."

"Elijah has been doing everything for me. I finally ate and he wanted me to get out the house for a little air. What's wrong?"

"It's Alaric. He's a vampire and is trying to kill people." I dropped my bag causing Damon and Stefan to look at me. "I know...we need to stop him Isabelle."

"...He...He is alive?" I looked at them all before shaking my head. I walked to the alcohol and started drinking it all until Damon stopped me. "He...He can't be he never drank blood..."

"He did... he turned... Isabelle we need your help for this." Damon's hand never left mine, I throwed a bottle at the wall before screaming out. He held me close before looking to Elena.

"Izzy, please." After I calmed down Elena took my hand. I looked at her and nodded, she led me to the couch and told me the plan.

The plan wasn't as simple as they thought it would be. Alaric was smarter, faster, more dangerous and immortal. They didn't take into consideration of my feelings when coming up with this ridiculous plan.

"I'll distract and keep him busy. Just find a damn way where he doesn't die! Again!" I walked out the house before running around Mystic Falls in search for Alaric. Night was falling and Alaric didn't have a day ring so he'd be out on the hunt.

I walked silently before dropping my phone down a drain. Lucky me. I crouched down but as I did, a stake flew past me and hit the wall in front of me. I got up and spun around to see Alaric, he had a sick smirk on his face.

"I have your friend, Caroline, come peacefully and call your boyfriend-"

"You don't have to kill Alaric. You don't have to threaten me either. Now calling my fiance is going to fail because my phone is in that fucking drain and I... I just need to hug you." I walked over and done what I needed to, I wrapped my arms around him before crying lightly. "Don't leave me again."

I felt a stake in my shoulder, I let out a scream before pushing him back, the stake going with him as he fell. I stepped back as blood ran down my arm as I slowly healed. "You think I'm the same man you looked up to? He died Isabelle-"

"I KNOW! I HOLD ONTO THE ONLY THING I CAN BECAUSE YOU ARE LIKE MY FATHER ALARIC! I LOOK UP TO YOU BECAUSE I CARE FOR YOU. I ALLOW YOU TO CALL ME BELLE! I ALLOW YOU TO PUT ME IN DANGER TO PROTECT MY FRIENDS! I..." I lowered my head as tears fell. "I would die for you because you, Jeremy and Elena are my family... I... If I am to die so you can be alive and yourself, so Elena and Jeremy can live..." I raised my head as my final tear fell. I looked to the vampire in front of me before smiling softly. "So be it."

"What about your fiance?" He stepped forward holding the stake in line with my heart. "He'll surely miss you-"

"Oh I'm counting on that. You see, he gets very protective if I'm hurt or don't answer his calls." I stepped back before smirking and wiping the tears from my face as a plan came to mind. "I won't die to you, I won't let you die either. So lets play cat and mouse. Catch me and I'll tell you their plan."

I sped off quickly, he followed after me. I can't let anyone else die, not after thinking he was gone permanently. I sped to the school and into his class to see Caroline. She had pencils in her hands and vervain rope around her mouth. I sped to her, trying to take the vervain off only to be hurt myself while getting it off her.

Soon everything turned black, I don't know what happened. I woke up on Elena's bed, Elijah beside me, Caroline smiling weakly at me and Bonnie holding my hand. I smiled at them before sitting up only to whince in excruciating pain. I only remembered seeing one person before my eyes opened up.

"He got you good, just relax."

"Ok. Where is my father?" They all looked at me before telling me he was okay, that Alaric was okay. "No, my father, a siren. Where is he?"

They looked at me in shock before Elijah spoke out. "My dear... Your father... He's dead, he has been for years."

"No! I saw him! He's alive I... I saw my father... I... I have to find him."
