Chapter 15

"Wanna go into Mystic Falls with me?" I didn't hesitate, I got off the couch and ran over to him. He laughed as I took his hand and walked out. "That was a fast yes, my dear."

"If I say in the house one more day I would go crazy. I know you said I could leave but I just... I couldn't go back, a friend died." He wrapped his arm around my shoulder before we entered Mystic Falls.

"I know and if you keep staying with me, I will get the feeling you will never want to leave." He smiled and chuckled slightly.

"I don't wanna leave. You take good care of me and I return that favour. Now why are we here?"

"I need to do something and you can go get anything you need or anything for the house. I'll come find you when I'm done, my dear." He handed me a credit card, I took it before giving him a hug and telling him to be careful. I walked about and bought a few things I thought the cabin house would need.

I soon found Elena and ran over to her, hugging her. She hugged back and spoke to me about that has happened. Stefan got kidnapped and tortured then becoming a blood hungry jerk. Jeremy found out about vampires, Damon showed he had a heart of some sort. Alaric got more involved in looking after her and Jeremy which made me happy. She found out her real mother was Isobel Flemming and that Damon 'killed' her, she was a vampire. John came back and Damon killed him only for him to come back to life like nothing happened. Oh and the town used a vampire sound thing to find all the vampires and kill them. Damon was caught and Stefan helped him out the burning building, Mayor Lockwood died in there but Bonnie helped with the fire to save them with her magic.

So to sum it all up, I was relaxing with Elijah while my friends were in danger. My shoulders slouched and worry was in my eyes. She took my hand and told me she was alright. I moved away and put the bags down. I took deep breaths to calm myself down before looking at her and smiling.

"So where have you been?" She looked at the bags then back to me as I picked them up.

"I um... I've been staying with a friend. He has been making sure I'm ok and he knows what I am so he feeds me the raw fish I need." I was avoiding her eyes, I couldn't tell her who it was or what he is. She might panic.

"Oh, so when are you coming home?" She sounded worried and upset. I looked at her with sorrowful eyes, I wasn't planning on coming back yet. "I need you, Jeremy needs you. Bonnie needs you. Even Stefan and Damon need you. Katherine is a danger, we need all the help we can get in stopping her. She tried to killed my dad, Izza, John is hospital."

"Wait, Katherine? I... I wanted to stay in the home my friend allowed me to live in... but Katherine is here or going to be here? I'm needed in Mystic Falls, I need to keep you all safe. Has she been spotted?" I gripped the bags tighter, worry and fear running through my body.

"Yes, she attacked John in my house, kissed Damon and Stefan attacked her. She will come back..."

"I'll come home. I'll need to talk to someone first. Be right back..." I walked away from Elena and to where me and Elijah first came into Mystic Falls.

I heard him appear after a while and he took the bags from my hands. I smiled weakly at him, he instantly noticed and pulled me into a hug. We stayed silent for a while before pulling apart and walking home, well he did.

"Isabelle? You coming?" I watched him look back at me, I shook my head and looked at the ground.

"I need to stay. Elena needs me, my family needs me. I have to stay, to protect them from harm. I'm sorry Elijah... but we can call each other, and I know the way to the house so I could visit randomly." He lifted my chin so I was lookind at him instead of the ground. I saw him smile.

"Isabelle, you want to protect and care for your family. That's understandable, my dear. I will take these home, clean up any mess and message you to see how your doing ok? I want you to be safe but I also want you happy. Being with Elena makes you happy." He was soft and gentle with his words. He was showing he cared about me. I gave him one final hug before he left. I walked home and felt something in my pocket.

I brought my hand out to see a flower, I smiled and put it in my hair before walking home. I seen Elena and ran over. I walked with her home and held her hand. We talked about random things and she told me about Caroline. I looked at her shocked, Caroline was being nicer than usual, dating Matt and Tyler was being not a jerk thanks to her.

We got in the house and Jeremy instantly hugged me. I hugged back and laughed, while he spun me. He let me go and Jenna hugged me next. I hugged back and stopped after a while and sat down telling them I was staying with a friend, losing Sheila was upsetting. Jenna went to question it but I mentioned I helped her a few times while here. Obviously lying to cover the fact of my age and our magic.

I went to the kitchen after a few hours of watching tv and made food for everyone to eat. My mind kept telling me to go back to Elijah but I had to stay here and protect my home. I have no clue when Katherine is attacking or going to be here but until then, my friends has a bodyguard that is stronger than a vampire.

And she is ready to kill anyone that harms them.
