"Xevier! come back here! you have to take your injections!" My mom called me.

"Mom, I don't want to!" Takbo ko.

Marami na akong nakabunggong mga tao, I almost bumped into an old man in a wheelchair who's being pushed by a nurse.

"Sorry, lo." I apologized and bowed a little before proceeding to escape from my mom.

Bowing to people has become a habit of mine since we lived in Japan for almost 4 years before coming back here to the Philippines, I was only 3 years old back then.

I ran fast just to get to the elevator, it was about to close.

Huminto si Mom sa tapat ng pintuan noong elevator bago ito sumara habang hinihingal.

I sighed in relief.

Doon ko lang napag-tanto na madami-dami din pala ang mga tao sa likura ko.

I looked at my back a bit before biting my lower lip.

Dahil sa ilang na nararamdaman ko ay napayuko ako at pinag-abot ang dalawang kamay ko sa gitna.

"Iho, bakit ka naman tumakas sa mama mo?" Tanong no'ng matandang babae sa 'kin.

"Nothing."

Gulat na napa-hawak sa dibdib iyong matanda.

"Aba, englisherong bata."

Was that a slang word..?

I am not that confident in my tagalog, like my tounge got twisted a lot while speaking. I am fluent when I'm only saying it in my mind but when it comes out from my mouth, I'd rather not to talk about it and just remain shut.

"Sorry, grandma, I don't understand." I apologized.

Pilit na ngumiti 'yong matanda, what is wrong with this old lady?

"Oh! it's okey! i-klos nalang ang mouth!" The old lady gave me a thumbs up.

I shrugged after that conversation.

The elevator's door has finally opened, ako ang kauna-unahang humakbang palabas at tumakbo.

"John Xevier Mirvalles!" Oh no, it's mom again.

Mabilis akong tumakbo sa hallway kung saan madaming tao, sumunod si mom kaya nang makakita ako nang nakaawang ng bukas na pintuan ay mabilis akong pumasok doon at mabilis ring isinara iyon.

I'm so glad that Mom didn't saw me.

I halt after shifting my body when I saw a little girl staring at me. She is sitting on the edge of the bed, she is so confused.

It made her look cute.

"Who are you?" She tilted her head.

Aside for looking cute, she also looks innocent.

"It's none of your business, kid." I tell her, I don't know if it sounds rude or what but I don't care. I need to hide.

She bit her lower lip, until tears swelled in her eyes.

"O-okay, sorry..." Pinunasan niya ang kaunting luha na namuo sa mga mata niya.

Napasinghap ako ng hangin. Of all rooms, really?

"John Xevier Mirvalles, just call me Xevier." I introduced myself.

Her face lifted up slowly until a sweet smile formed on her lips.
