Chapter 22: Ruby POV

I got out of my car and gave my keys to the valet that worked at the exclusive club that was holding seiya's party. I looked at the building impressed as I walked inside where there was a guard at the door taking the post card size invitations from guests. I handed mine to the guy and he unlocked the rope that was blocking the entrance and welcoming me to the party. I walked in to see the place already packed with people wearing all kinds of costumes lounging on leather sofas and chairs while others danced to the music playing from the speakers.

Men and women dressed in formal white dress shirts with gold ties and black pants with gold masquerade mask on their face walked around offering platters of drinks and small food. A table in the middle of the room that had golden confetti spread over it, along with sign that said happy birthday seiya. On the end of the table was bags of wrapped presents.

Next to the gifts was a tall brunette dressed in a Greek style costume made of  a white toga dress that was one shouldered with brown sandals and a garland crown on her head and her brown hair was full of curls, going down her back was Taiki. She had a clipboard in her hand as she wrote down the the names of every person with a gift on the table.

I smiled as I walked over to her. Figures she would be doing something like this.

I stoped in front of her and she looked up for a second before looking back at the clipboard.

"You can sit your gift there. Thank you." She said still writing names down.

"Really?" I couldn't help but laugh at the tall brunette. She glanced up again with a scowl before her face expression changed into recognition.

"Ruby is that you?" She asked and I waved in answer while laughing. She blinked once before speaking . " Wow I couldn't even tell that was you at all." She said looking me up and down.

"I can see that." I say laughing.

"I can see you're some type of super hero , but which one exactly?" She asked in a pondering tone as she looked me over. I laughed and spun around making my cape flare out. "You can't tell?" I asked her laughing again.

"I'm not familiar with all the heroes here so you will have to educate me." She said with an apologetic smile.

"I'm batwoman." I say with a small smile.

"Oh yes I see it now." She nodded with a smile back.

"So what are you supposed to be?" I asked back.

She looked down at the outfit before clearing her throat. "Athena goddess of wisdom and war." She said with a smile.

"That's the perfect costume for you. I can totally see that." I say laughing and she blushed before responding.

"Yeah well wait until you see Yaten and Seiya." She said with a knowing smile. I looked around trying to spot them but couldn't really tell from all the costumes.

"Where are they?"

Taiki smirked. "In the back helping Seiya with her costume."

"Oh what's she dressed as?" I asked hoping I'll be able to spot her easily if I know what she was dressed as.  Taiki coughed once into her hand.

"I can't tell you that sorry." She said with a secret smile at the end. I looked at her with my eyebrow raised. Which you couldn't really see because of the red wig.

Taiki laughed before shaking her head . "It's a surprise and it's probably better that way. Trust me." She said grinning at me.

"Now I'm even more curious." I say , laughing.

"She will be out soon and also you don't have to hold that the whole time." Taiki said gesturing to the table. I took out a smaller gift  bag from the one I was holding out and sat the bigger gift bag on the table.
