CHAPTER 16: RUBY POV

I woke up a few hours later in Seiya's room and it was dark except the light coming in the window. I looked over next to me to see Seiya still asleep and my arm was still around her waist. I stared at her silently, admiring her face. I reached up and stroked her cheek with my thumb. I miss being this close to her. Being able to touch her when I wanted or however I wanted, and just holding her in my arms in general. I just wanted so much more than to be friends but I knew I had to wait and be patient. What I said out loud to her before falling asleep was nothing but the truth. I did want things to go back to normal between us. But not the normal we was before we started dating, but after. I just wanted her to be mine again. I leaned forward slowly and pressed my lips gently against hers,to the point where they barely touched. I  moved off the bed slowly as to not wake her up and walked silently to her room door and walked out. I walked downstairs where I saw Yaten and Taiki sitting at the kitchen counter drinking tea and they smiled at me when I walked in.

"Hey Ruby." They greeted.

"Hey guys. How's it going?" I greeted them with a smile and sat next to Yaten. She smiled and bumped her shoulder against me lightly. I smiled at her and returned the gesture.

"We're doing good. Do you want me to make you something to eat?" Taiki asked kindly.

I smile and ran my hands through my hair. She really was like a mom sometimes.

"No thanks. I actually have to get ready to leave." I tell them and look at my watch.

"Ok but first let me ask this. Did you have fun with Seiya today?" Yaten smirked and wiggled her eyebrows.

"Really Yaten?" Taiki said exasperated and shook her head,while I laughed.

"All we did was talk and fall asleep but yes I enjoyed it." I said smiling still feeling Seiya's warmth against me.

"Awww that sounds boring." Yaten states, sticking her tongue out and I laughed and shrugged.

"Sorry, But that's all that happened." I say smiling.

"Well what did you two talk about?" Taiki asked sipping her tea. I thought back to the conversation we had earlier, and even though it was settled. There was something about it that didn't sit right with me. Like  something had to have brought that up .... or maybe someone.

"Say has Seiya been acting strange to you guys or said anything weird?" I asked. I wondered if she even said anything them , but then again she barely wanted to tell me.

Yaten and Taiki both looked at me confused, and shook their head. I nodded and pursed my lips, thinking.

"Ruby is everything ok?" Yaten asked frowning, probably reading my emotions. I sighed before answering.

"She asked if I trusted her." I explained to her. Yaten and Taiki looked at each other before looking at me.

"Why would she ask that?" Yaten said frowning and I shrugged.

"I'm asking if she's said anything or maybe have you felt anything weird with her emotions lately?" I asked her. That doubt would make everything I'm trying to do go back to zero and I won't have her question me like that again and I'm definitely don't want to see her crying like that again. Yaten looked at me and rolled her eyes.

"Seiya tends to avoid me when her emotions are not in check these days. So I haven't felt them as much but I noticed she has moments of sadness but I haven't thought to much about it." Yaten says explaining with a frown.

"I just feel like it was so random , like what put that idea in her head." I say wondering what was going through her head.

"Maybe.... someone said something...." Taiki said leaning against the counter with her arms crossed, and thinking out loud. Yaten nodded and rolled her eyes, sighing.

"I bet I know who if someone did...." she said and flipped her hair and I sat there silent. Of course. It was Terra. So flirting with the woman I love isn't enough she has to try and turn her against me?

"Ruby?...." I heard Yaten call me and touch my shoulder and I didn't realize my hand was clenched in a fist on the table.

"Yeah?" I asked looking at her.

"Calm down. I can feel you getting angry or is it jealous? I don't know I can never tell those two emotions apart." Yaten says , snorting at the end. I blinked at her distracted by her comment.

"Okay first off. I'm not jealous because there's nothing to be jealous of." I say and took a deep breath trying to push away those thoughts about that woman saying stuff about me and putting thoughts into Seiya's head.  Yaten snapped her fingers and flipped her hair.

"I hear you there." Yaten said in a valley girl voice, making me laugh.

"I knew I could make you laugh. I'm just as funny as Seiya when I wanna be." Yaten said winking, and I chuckled.

"Don't take me literally on that last statement Ruby. I was just guessing what was wrong. Only Seiya can answer that." Taiki stated and I bit my lip nodding. I looked down at my watch and got up from the seat.

"I got to go now guys , I have a meeting early tomorrow." I say to them,heading to the living room to grab my bag by the couch and head to the door. Yaten and Taiki followed behind me and I stopped with my hand on the door handle and looked back at them.

"Can you guys do me a favor?" I asked them and they both looked at me curiously.

"Sure. What is it ?" Taiki asked smiling.

"Can you guys find out the reason behind why she asked that? Just so I know and can prevent it from happening again." I say explaining.

"Yeah we can do that?" Yaten smirked and nodded.

"Thanks I'll see you guys later." I say smiling and walked out the door.
