Epilogue

Ruby pov

Our first morning  at home with the twins. I awoke to hearing Briar crying in the nursery. Seiya was already pulling the covers away to get out of bed but I could see she wasn't fully awake as she was swaying back and forth with her eyes still close. I grabbed a hold of her wrist and sat up.

"I got it. You go to sleep okay." I tell her and she looked at me half asleep.

"Are you sure? She's probably just hungry."

"You're not even fully awake. Just go back to sleep love. I got it." I tell her kissing her cheek as I pushed the covers off. She looked at me silently for a minute before she gave a tired smile.

"Thank you. I promise to get the next one." She said smiling as she laid back down, pulling the covers over her.

"Yeah I know." I said my rolling eyes and smiling as I slid off the bed.

I walked into the nursery and picked up Briar, holding her to my chest.
This was definitely one of her hungry cries. I could tell because she stops for a minute or two before continuing again.

I walked into the kitchen and poured some of the milk in a bottle and sat it in the microwave for a few minutes.

"I know you're hungry. It's almost ready." I say looking down, rocking her as she began crying again.

I took the bottle out and shook it before testing how hot it was. When I was satisfied with the temperature. I gave her the bottle and watched her drink from it greedily.

"Wow you were really hungry." I said smiling at her as I walked into the living room to sit down.

Every time I looked at her. I couldn't help but fall in love with her. She looks so much like Seiya,and our son, he's so cute. Seiya thinks he looks like me but I kinda see both of us in his features. In Briar though, she has my eye color but the other features of her face was very similar to Seiya's.

I let her little hand hold on to my finger as she ate. Every day she was getting a little more alert and attentive. Right now she was looking at me with slightly-clear eyes and like with her mom I stared back, just taking in how perfect she is.

When she done I laid her against my shoulder and rubbed her back gently. One of the books I've read said that it's good to talk to them constantly so that they became accustomed to their parents voices. So I began talking to her for a few minutes as she laid there, looking up at me with an almost curious look.

"Wanna go see your brother? It's almost his time to eat." I say to her ,kissing her cheek and forehead as I stood up to head back upstairs.

"Hey I thought you went back to sleep?" I asked as I stepped into the nursery to see Seiya in one of the recliners, holding Lionel with a feeding blanket over him. All you could see was his little hand clutching her T shirt.

"I tried really but I couldn't because I knew he would be awake soon, so I just decided to feed him now." She told me as she looked down at him.

I sat in the recliner next to her while I still held Briar to me and frowned looking at my wife. "You need to rest more. You barely slept four hours last night. You know I'm here to help take care of them too right?" I tell her and she looked at me.

"Yeah I know.... I just...I don't like hearing them cry. It makes me anxious for some reason."

"It's good for them to cry love. It helps their lungs develop more. If they cry to much that's when it's a problem." I say, laughing at the end.

"Yeah that's what Taiki told me." Seiya said sighing. "I think I'm having attachment issues." She grimaced and I chuckled.

"Don't worry I'll help you break that." I tell her smiling.

"Thank you my love. You're so good to me." Seiya replied, closing her eyes.

"Okay this is silly." I say shaking my head and got up and laid Briar in her crib,as she was dozing off. I then turned back to Seiya. "Is he still feeding?" I asked her and she opened her eyes and peeked under the blanket.

"No I think he's falling asleep again."

"Okay let me see him." I asked holding my arms out and she passed him to me silently.

I sat back down in the recliner and looked at him, chuckling. "Okay he's completely milk drunk right now." I say laughing at the expression on his face as I patted his back.

"Well he's been feeding for a while." She mumbled sounding half asleep.

"Your mommy is falling asleep on us. Should we make her go to bed? Yeah let's do that." I say talking to my son, who looked at me with dazed over eyes.

I got up and reached for Seiya's hand and pulled. "Come on love wake up. Let's go lay in bed." I encouraged and her eyes fluttered open and she pouted.

"Okay I'm coming." She replied and let me pulled her up guided her to the bedroom where she climbed into bed and buried her face in the pillow not bothering to put covers on her. I pulled the covers over her before climbing in myself while still holding my son. I wasn't really sleepy so I turned on my tv and turned the volume down. I smiled as I looked at Seiya and then at my son.

I couldn't be more happier than I was at that moment with my little family.

I do have third story in mind but it'll be a spin off sort of and I'll have to update my other stories ,so stay tuned everyone I have so much more for you all to read and I hope you enjoyed this. I had fun writing it though I'm sorry it took so long to finish. I had a very long year with health issues I had to deal with.
