Chapter 36:Ruby Pov

Today was the day of our anniversary and I was getting ready. I was wearing a black feminine suit with black heels. I brushed most of my hair back, except my bangs and which I had swept over my brow.

I looked in the mirror to check my appearance before I grabbed the ring off my night stand and put it in my pocket. I then grabbed my wallet and phone before walking downstairs.

My dogs were lounging on the couch and Ru barked when she saw me. I went over and rubbed each of their heads.

"Wish me luck."

30 minutes later I pulled up in front of the house , grabbed the bouquet of flowers and went and knocked on the front door. I could of just let myself in but I wasn't sure if they were ready or not and didn't want to be just standing there. Like our first date Yaten was dressing up Seiya to fit the occasion, not trusting her to do it herself. 

A moment later, the door was open to reveal Yaten. She smiled when she saw me and stepped back to let me inside.

"You came just in time, I just finished helping her get ready. For once she didn't argue with me, maybe she's finally learning I'm right fashion wise." She said with a laugh and I chuckled.

"Well in that case how do I look?" I say smiling and doing a slow spin for her. She gave a critical eye at the black suit and white silk shirt that had just a tiny glimpse of cleavage.

"You look fab as always." She said with a wink and I let out nervous laugh.

"Don't be nervous, everything is gonna be great." She said with a knowing smile but that didn't reassure me.

"Well can you blame me for being a little nervous. This isn't my first proposal and if....if she says no...." I paused taking in a deep breath and closing my eyes.

"Ruby breathe trust me everything will be fine. She's gonna be blown away." She said laying her hand on my arm and smiling at me.

"Okay. You're right it will." I say trying to give myself some confidence.

"Where's Taiki?" I asked wondering why she wasn't down here.

"She went ahead to go meet with the others to get started. I'll head over once you guys leave." Yaten said with a smile.

Just as she said that we heard clicking on the stairs and looked to see Seiya coming down. She was wearing a dark blue midnight flowy dress with lacy black trim at the end. Black strapped heels and her hair was curled in loose waves with curls coming down her back.

"Wow." I whispered in a daze as I watched her.

"You're welcome." Yaten whispered in my ear and I met her smug gaze for a second before I looked back at Seiya as she stepped off the last step. A soft smile on her lips as she walked up to me.

"Hi." She said to me as she took in my own outfit.

"Hi.... You look." I said and paused, looking at her again.

"Yeah I know." She said with a giggle. Her eyes sparkling as she laughed. I smiled and reached out the bouquet of roses. She smiled wider and took the flowers from me.

"Thank you. They're beautiful." She said looking from the flowers to me.

"I think you're more beautiful than that but you're welcome." I said winking at her and she laughed. She reached and pulled a single rose from the bouquet and held it out to me.

"A rose for a Rose." She said smiling softly at me. I met her gaze and took the flower  without looking away. We didn't notice Yaten was standing there watching the whole thing until she stepped closer.

"Here I'll take these flowers and you two go ahead." She said with a smug smile.

I nodded and reached my palm out to her in invitation. Seiya took my hand in hers and laced out fingers together.

"Here don't forget this." Yaten said handing her a dark blue clutch, which she took and tucked under her arm.

"Have fun you two." She said and we both smiled at her before heading to the door. I walked her to the car and opened the passenger door for her and closed it before I walked over to the drivers side and got in. 

"This feels like de ja vu for some reason." Seiya said laughing and I smirked as I looked over and brought her hand to my lap as I drove.

"Of our first date? Yeah I got that too." I said as I drove.

"So are you taking me to an amusement park again." She asked with a wide playful smile. I smiled and winked as I brought her hand to my lips.

"You'll see." I said.

SEIYA POV

All day I let Yaten primp and prim me like the human life size doll that I felt like. When she pulled out the dress she thought I wear , I bit my lip.

"Are you sure that isn't a bit much? It's just dinner. Unless you know something that I don't." I say pointedly.

All day I got the feeling they was hiding something from me and when I mentioned that they would deny it.

"What other time can I dress you up Seiya. You won't let me other than dates." Yaten said with a pout.

"That's because you would make me into your own personal dress doll." I say with a laugh. Yaten rolled her eyes.

"Yeah sure but why not. Who else am I going to dress up." She said with a laugh.

"Uh yourself." I say sarcastically with a raised eyebrow and Yaten shrugged.

"Sure but here wear this.I'll be back soon." She said pointing at the blue dress she laid on my bed before she walked out.

I sighed and did what she told me to do deciding it's easier then to fight. An hour later she had my make up done and my hair in curls.

"Okay what do you think?" Yaten said holding up a hand held mirror up so I could see myself. My makeup was light with a hint of blue on my eyelid. Lip balm so that my lips had a little glimmer to them. Besides we would eating. Who would be looking at my lips anyway.

"I love it. Thank you." I say smiling . Yaten blinked in surprise expecting me to be difficult.

"You're welcome. Just make sure you don't mess up my work." She said snottedly but I could tell that she was secretly pleased. Just then there was a knock at the door.

"That must be Ruby. Here put on your shoes and meet us downstairs." She said quickly walking out the door.
I put on the black strappy heels with little blue gems embedded in. When I was done I looked in the mirror at myself satisfied with my appearance before I walked downstairs. Seeing Ruby and her beauty was always a shock, but looking at her with her boyish swept bangs, light makeup and black suit was like having a bucket of cold water being dumped on your head. You can never fully brace for it. Like many times before I found myself wondering how someone like her could want someone like me.

When she looked at me, it seemed to have a faraway look on her face like she couldn't believe what she was seeing . Well that makes two of us. I thought to myself and smiled pleased that I could make her look at me like that. When I stopped in front of her I gave her a big smile and she handed me a bouquet of roses.   I took one out and handed it to her after that Yaten pretty much ran us out the house. I don't know why but it felt like she was definitely hiding something.

"So where are we going?" I asked looking at her as she drove. She smiled and looked over at me, winking before kissing my hand.

"You will see." She said before looking back at the road. I smiled and looked out the window. As long as I was with her I knew it would be great.
