Love like never before

Chapter 28: Seiya pov

I woke up to the sun shining in my face and I could hear birds chirping outside. I turned my face to the side to see Ruby still asleep with her arm around my waist. I watched her silently for a while as I remembered all that happened last night. I remembered how she confessed that she loved me and wanted to be with me. I smiled softly at the thought and brushed my fingers through her tounsled short hair. I heard her dogs bark and scratch at the door. I leaned forward and lightly kissed her cheek, before I took her arm off me and lightly and laid it on the bed. I pulled back the covers and climbed out as silently as I could without waking her up. I put back on  my clothes and glanced at the bed to make sure Ruby was still asleep before I opened the door. Ru and Charlie met me at the door, their tails wagging in excitement as they jumped up and down.

"Hey guys." I whisper to them as I bent down to pet them behind the ears.

"I need you guys to keep your mom company for a while. Can you do that?" I asked the two mischievous dogs as they attempted to lick me as if saying yes. I opened the bedroom door and watched as the two ran in and hopped on the bed, and made themselves comfortable next to Ruby before I quietly closed the door back.

I came downstairs and grabbed Ruby's car keys off the kitchen counter so I could come back in the house before she woke up. I then put on my shoes before leaving out the door. As I drove I thought about the chance I had to be with Ruby versus the danger I could put her in. The more I about it the more I couldn't find the answers I needed. Maybe because the answer wasnt simple or logical but more of the heart.

RUBY POV

I woke up to see Ru's face next to mine looking at me. I reached up and rubbed behind her head and she licked my face ,which made me laugh. "Hey Ru, how did you get in here?" I asked and she licked my face again. I sat up and looked around but I didn't see the figure of my raven haired beauty who fell asleep in my arms and who face I stared at until I fell asleep.  Charlie was at my feet and he yawned while looking at me. I climb out of bed and threw on a T- shirt that I had laying on a chair. I came downstairs and looked around but couldn't find and evidence that she was here. I went to the living room but all I saw was Chance looking at me in excitement.   

I walked over to the couch and picked up Chance and held her to my chest. I don't understand. How could she just leave? I told her how I felt about her. Practically made love to her in my bed and she just left? All of a sudden I just felt like the lowest of the low. Unloved and unwanted. Why does this keep happening to me? I sat there wondering why as I held chance to me like she was a teddy bear that would make me feel better. Chance whimpered in my arms and licked my face as a sob came out my mouth. I'm stupid to think that it would be different because she wasn't a girl from this world. That someone like her would fall in love with someone like me. That I wouldn't end up hurt and alone....

I snuggled Chance closer and buried my face in her fur and she licked my face as if she was trying to comfort me.

All of a sudden I heard my front door open and I lifted my head up and frowned confused. I got up wiping my tears away with Chance still in my arms. I saw Seiya lock the door and she was holding a paper bag in her hand. She paused when she turned around and saw me standing there.

"Oh. I was hoping to be back before you woke up." She said as she walked closer to me.

"You left." I accused staring at her,as I held Chance and she looked at the bag in her hand.

"Yeah I went to go get you a belated surprise breakfast but you're awake so..... surprise." She said with a small laugh and looked up at me.The smile she had on her face disappeared as she looked at me concerned.

"What's wrong?" She asked looking at me.

"You left to go get food? Nothing else?" I asked for confirmation, my mood changing from sadness to hopeful and happy at hearing her explanation.
