Chapter 7: Ruby POV

I watched as Taiki talk quietly to Seiya by the stairs. From the look on Seiya's face she wasn't very happy. So she really wants nothing to do with me then?....

"Hey."

I looked over from those two to see Yaten next to me. "It's ok she's probably just tired from working out." She said trying to reassure me, but of course I saw through it. I smiled slightly at her.

"She wouldn't even look at me." I whispered sadly. Yaten was about to respond when I heard Seiya sprint upstairs and her door slam shut. We both looked over at Taiki to see her visibly sigh and walked towards us.
She sat down next to us and smiled at me though it was clearly forced.

"She's just a little emotional right now. We'll give her a few minutes then ask her to come join us."

"Maybe I should leave, she doesn't want me here." I said getting up with pursed lips. I could feel a painful feeling building in my chest. A feeling I've become all to familiar with when I thought of Seiya. Yaten grabbed my wrist ,stopping me.

"Please don't leave. I want to hang out with you Ruby ,don't let Seiya ruin this. Please stay and hang out with us." Yaten begged,her eyes sad.
I wanted to hang out with them but I also wanted to be around Seiya too. I miss her so much and the fact that she won't look or talk to me hurts.

"How can I when she doesn't want me here? What did I do?" I said the last line in a whisper as I sat down and a tear slipped out the corner of my eye before I could stop it and I shut my eyes to stop more I felt coming.
I felt arms wrap around me from both sides.

"Please don't cry Rubes." I heard Yaten say, her voice breaking.

"Why wont she talk to me ? Did I hurt her that bad? I'm sorry I didn't mean to." I said to them opening my eyes . Yaten wiped away the tears that had fallen,while she looked at me sadly. After a while she put both her hands on my cheeks.

"Let me explain something about our dear leader Ruby. Seiya can be very stubborn when she wants to be and this is one of those times. You didn't hurt her, at least not about the secret,she blames herself for that." Yaten explained.

"Then what did I do to her then?" I asked them confused. This time Taiki spoke.

"Well for one ,she's pissed off at us for telling you what we are."

"But why?" I asked.

"Because she wants to keep to you safe . As I'm sure you know or figured out we have to be discreet . We can't just go letting people,even friends know who we are. It......can be dangerous." Yaten explained.

"Dangerous how? You guys know I wouldn't tell anyone ,not that they would believe me." I tell them.

"Its not that Ruby. Look at it this way. Every superhero on your movies and shows has either family,friends or a lover. Someone they love right?" Taiki said and I nodded in agreement. "And  just like them we have enemies, in fact we have one right now that we're currently trying to stop. Remember we told you." I nodded again, remembering when they told me about this horrid women they were fighting,who kept escaping at every turn. "Well we don't want our enemies coming after our love ones to use against us. Because imagine if that did happen what do you think Seiya would do?" Taiki asked. I thought about what they were telling me. She would probably come after me, which would put her in danger too.

"So she's just trying to protect me?" I say smiling as it dawned on me what they were trying to say.

"Yeah in her own idiot, moronic way she is." Yaten said then snorted.

"Yaten cut Seiya some slack. She's doing what she thinks is best as a protector." Taiki said.

"Yeah but she's only causing herself more pain! I mean Ruby's right here! She not with some ex or dating someone else!" Yaten argues.
