When school was finally over I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of fresh air. Like a huge sigh of air. Today was honestly a long day. I don't know if it was the El and hopper drama or the Billy shit, but it was excruciatingly long. The weekend was however officially starting.

Thank god. I can finally compose myself before I see Billy again.

I made my way to my locker dropping my stuff and heading for the car.

Steve wasn't at the car yet so I sat on the trunk and waited. I could see Billy leaning against his car staring at me. I reached into my bag grabbing a cigarette and lighting it.

Calm down Natalie. As soon as Steve gets here you won't have to see him all weekend.

Billy smiled at me as he took a hit off of his own cigarette. I didn't smoke often but I did have the occasional cigarette every so often. Based on Billy's smile I'm guessing he thought we had smoking in common.

"Hey Nat." Jason and the basket ball team walked over to me. I looked at Jason reaching in my bag and handing him the money I pulled out.

Jason started counting the money while I opened the bag smelling the weed.

"Nice doing business with you Harrington." Jason yelled out to me as he put the money in his pocket. I rolled the bag up sticking it into my bag. I looked up to Billy looking at me with his brows raised.

Surprised I smoke weed huh pretty boy.

"Sorry."

I looked over at Steve.

"Your fine." I said as I tossed my cigarette. I jumped off the hood as we made our way to his car and he drove us home.

"We're heading to the pool in an hour."

I looked at Steve and nodded my head as I made my way up the stairs. Ten minutes before we were leaving was when I changed into my cute bathing suit. It was a one piece and super colorful. I put a tank top and shorts on over my suit and grabbed a towel.

"Let's go Nat." Steve yelled up to me as I opened my door.

"You see I'm coming. Do you not?"

Steve smiled and we made our way to Steve's car. The drive wasn't too long but it wasn't short either. It was that awkward halfway point. Honestly I don't know why Steve liked the pool so much when we literally had a pool at the house. Probably all the females. When we made our way to the pool I about fucking swallowed my tongue when I seen fucking Billy Hargrove sitting on the lifeguard stand.

You have got to be freaking kidding me!

Billy and I both locked eyes and I averted my vision within seconds. I could hear Billy's faint chuckle at how fast I looked away. I just pretended as if I didn't hear him or notice him. Steve went straight to swimming but I went straight to the lounge chair.

I wasn't tanning, but I was reading. Don't get me wrong I love to swim but no girl in their right mind likes spending the day at a pool with her cousin.

"Come on Nat. I didn't bring you to the pool to read. You could do that at home you know."

I didn't look up from my book. "Yes Steve I know. You could have also swam at home. We do have a pool you know. Your the one that drug me here. If I want to read I will read. You don't hear me saying anything about your weak ass back stroke."

Steve sighed and walked over taking my book from me.

"Hey I was reading that." I wined as Steve held my book up to where I couldn't reach it.
