When we got home I went straight for the shower. I hated the feeling of chlorine on my skin and in my hair. Billy and Eddie hung around drinking beers for a few more hours before Eddie finally decided to head home.

"See you guys tomorrow." Eddie said giving us his winning smile. By the time Billy took his shower I was already in bed half asleep. Between the swimming, laying in the sun, the crying, arguing and the sex I was fucking tired.

I heard max come in but I didn't move or say anything to her. I did shift when I felt the indentation of the bed a little while later. Billy had finally come to bed.

"Goodnight princess. I love you." Billy said in his low sweet voice as his arms went around me holding me.

"Mmm. Night. I love you." I managed to mumble as I gently grabbed onto Billy. I could feel his gentle light kiss on my cheek but I didn't move. I just gave a light low "hmm."

I was already half asleep when Billy climbed into the bed so it didn't take me long before I actually fell all the way asleep in his arms. I slept great too. When I woke up the next morning I was so refreshed. It felt like I had slept for a full day.

I got up and got dressed walking out of the room.

"Hi princess." Billy said with a smile as he kept making breakfast.

"Morning." I said in a cheery happy tone as I walked over kissing him good morning. One thing about Billy was he made the best French toast I had ever tried in my life. When breakfast was over I cleaned up while Billy got busy with his workout.

"Uhhh." Billy groaned loudly.

I looked at Billy smiling as he instantly grew irritated at the door bell.

"I'll get it. It's probably that weird friend Eddie's of your anyway."

Billy couldn't help but laugh as I said that with an amused smile on my face. I walked over opening the door being completely prepared for the pick up line eddie was surely going to come up with. However when I opened the door I froze completely.

"Hi angel. Miss me?"

I was standing frozen in the doorway as I held onto the door. I was holding the door so hard I could feel my hand tingling from the force. I was locked eyes with Kai. My ex boyfriend. He looked different but the same in a way. He still had his tan complexion and his short brown hair. His piecing blue- gray eyes. Which by the way were locked on me.

"K-k-kai." I mumbled as he looked at me giving me his smile I loved when we dated, but grew to absolutely loathe. I could feel the color completely drain from my face. I could hear Billy's weights clink as he set them down. Which meant he was walking over.

Please don't hurt them. Please!

Kai looked at me smiling as I heard billy from behind me.

"You touch her I will fucking kill you."

I kept looking at kai as he kept smiling his psychopathic smile.

"Oh you told him about me?"

I couldn't speak. All I could do was look at kai as flashbacks played over in my head. The night my life changed forever was on repeat in my head. Me watching him kill my mom from under the bed. Me running for help only for Kai to grab me stabbing me. Me pulling the knife out and calling Steve crying and hiding. Kai finding me and kicking me in the wound I just pulled the knife from. Making the blood ooze out of me. Steve running in and almost getting shot in the head only for me to stab kai.

"Your dead. Steve threw you out of a window." I said almost unaudible. Which made kai smile wide.

"Not dead angel. Surprise. Are you not happy to see me?"

When kai took a step foward reaching for me I took a step back hitting Billy's chest. Billy could feel my shakes on his body. He didn't say anything to give away my fear though. However kai knew I was scared. It was undoubtedly visible on my face. Billy wrapped his arm around my waist making Kai's smile completely disintegrate in seconds flat.

"You need to leave." Billy said in a firm yet clipped voice. Kai couldn't help but smile at Billy before looking down at me.

"I'll see you real soon angel. Tell Steve I said hi."

No.

Kai didn't say anything else. He just walked away and walked down the street. When I couldn't see him anymore i shut the door. The moment the door was shut I started crying. Crying hard. I was shaking and I could barely breath from just how heavy my tears were flowing. I didn't say a single thing to Billy or max. I just walked into Billy's room and started tossing my things into my bags.

"Baby what are you doing?"

I could hear Billy but I didn't say anything. I just kept packing in a rushed and hurried way.

"Natalie please stop packing. Where are you going?"

I kept shoving my things into my bags as max asked that. "I have to leave. I can't. I can't stay here." I said between my crying.

"Hey what's going on? Nat where are you going?" Eddie asked me as he walked in cracking open a pop. I didn't reply. I just kept packing.

"We will keep you safe." Max said with tears in her eyes.
"I have to. It's the best thing." I mumbled as I was almost finished. I was moving so fast not even Billy could grab me to stop me.

"Please don't leave Nat. Please." Max was crying now.

I'm sorry max.

"Your young max. One day you will understand. This is the best thing."

I grabbed my bags tossing them onto the floor as I went into the bathroom to collect my things.

"Baby please don't do this. I'm not gonna let anything happen to you. I promise."

I threw the remaining things into my bag zipping them up.

"I can't. I'm keeping you all safe. I have to. This is the best thing for everyone. He will chase me which means you all will be safe."

Billy closed the distance between us grabbing my face in his hands. "Please baby. I can't loose you I love you."

I looked at Billy as I cried. "I love you. I will always love you. Your my everything Billy. He will kill all of you if I stay here. I won't let that happen. I can't let that happen."

I looked at Billy planting a kiss on his trembling lips. I could feel the tears stinging my eyes as his own tears wet mine and his face even more. I let go of Billy and I grabbed my bags running out of the house.

I tossed my bags in my car and I jumped in. Not stopping for even a single second. I had to move. Deep down I knew kai was somewhere watching me. I also knew he would chase me.

"NATALIEEE!!"

I looked at Billy as he yelled my name on his front porch. My tears were still coming and I was shaking. I looked at Billy one last time and I pulled out onto the road heading for the edge of Hawkins.
