Once my ankle was feeling a little better is the next time I tried running. I did make it further this time though. I made it a few blocks away.

"Hi could I borrow your phone?" I asked the clerk in a panicked voice.

The gas station clerk looked at me surprised with a little bit of shock on his face. However he handed me the phone giving me a small smile. The clerk and the one couple that were in the store were all looking at me. I looked like an absolute crazy person I'm guessing. My hair wasn't brushed and I didn't have any shoes on. Only the ankle brace and my head was still bandaged. I was almost fully healed but not quite.

I dialed the first number that came to my mind.

Please be Steve.

"Hello?"

It wasn't Steve. It was my old friend heather from back home. How did I remember her number of all numbers? I honestly couldn't tell you.

"Heather it's Nat." I said rushed.
"NAT OH MY GOD! How are you?"

It's so great hearing her voice.

"Heather I need you to call my cousin Steve. He lives in Indiana. Tell him I'm in-"

Where the hell am I?

"I'm sorry where am I?" I asked the clerk.

The clerk looked at me raising his eyebrows. "South Carolina. Rock hill."

I nodded my head. "Heather call my cousin Steve in Indiana. Tell him I'm in rock hill South Carolina. Please."

Heather paused on the phone after a few long moments she spoke. "Nat what's wrong?"

I could feel the tears in my eyes. "Please Heather. Please find him. Kai is going to kill me. I NEED STEVE!"
"Kai? How the fuck did he find you? Nat?"

Just then I heard the car screech to a halt. I turned with wide eyes as I seen kai slam the car door shut looking at me.

"HEATHER CALL MY GOD DAMN COUSIN! NOW!!"

I slammed the phone down and I took off running towards the back of the gas station.

"Ma'am that's not an exit."

I don't need an exit. I need a bat.

I looked around and luckily I found one of those big huge red wrenches next to the fountain drink dispenser. I ducked down just as I heard the bell ring out as the door hit it.

"Natalie. Where are you angel?"

I didn't say anything. I slowly moved around the isles staying ducked.

"Natalie I know your in here. No sense in hiding."

I was Trying to stay out of Kai's line of vision. I could hear Kai's heavy footsteps as he was slowly walking and stopping looking down each isle of shelves.

come on Nat. You can do this.

I slowly crept up behind a few more shelves slowly coming to a complete stop behind kai.

"Looking for me?"

Kai turned around smiling at me. I didn't give him the chance to say anything. I swung my arm with the wrench in it making contact with kai. I put as much force and weight as I could behind the hit. Kai immediately started bleeding down his face as he dropped to the floor of the gas station.

I didn't wait a single second more. I dropped the wrench completely surprised I just did that and I ran for the door. Heading to the car. Kai had a bad habit of never taking the keys out of the ignition. I didn't realize kai had gotten up from the gas station floor though. I thought I knocked him out but I didn't. I jumped into the car and started the ignition.
