BILLY'S POINT OF VIEW
"How long have we been at this?"
I looked at robin and sighed. "Almost two months."
Robin looked at me and sighed as everyone kept searching. Steve was still calling people. We stayed busy for months. Every single day working to find even a single sighting of Natalie. We hadn't had very much luck though. One motel said she stayed for one night but that was the night she had left town.
"So what's she like?"
I looked over at Gareth looking up from the computer I was at.
"She's amazing. She's kind and her laugh is adorable. She cared way too much about other people. She gets upset easily though. She is actually really bad at math. She does this face scrunch thing when she isn't happy." I mumbled picturing her smile in my head.
"She's really nice too." Max chimed in.
"She's always there for everyone. When I started my period she helped me, I had know clue what was going on. I freaked out." El said with a hint of laughter as if she was remembering something. We all made our way around the room explaining her. Gareth smiled at me and so did robin. They had never met Natalie. Not ever. Yet they were here every single day with us. Helping us.
"You love her. I can tell." Robin said. I didn't have to say anything. I just nodded my head. Anyone could see I that I love her.
"We all love her." Steve mumbled with his emotions clearly on his face.
"He's supposed to be in California at college. He's taking a gap year so he can find her." Max said.
Everyone looked at max then to me like they were shocked.
"She's hot." I looked at Eddie and sighed as I tightened my jaw. Sometimes I really hate him. Eddie couldn't help but chuckle at my obvious irritation.
"I just like to fuck with you billy. Natalie is great. She's good for you."
I looked at Eddie not saying anything. I just nodded my head agreeing with him. We all kept working.
"Talk about a hard girl to find." Gareth mumbled under his breath. No one said anything or acknowledged what he said.
"Hi this is Steve. I was wondering if you've heard from nat by chance?"
Steve waited a few moments sighing. "Okay thanks anyways."
He made that call so many times that his sigh was what was heard in the room most frequently. Steve wanted to find her just as much as I did. Me and him were the ones working the hardest.
"Hi this is Steve-"
He stopped talking and everyone looked at him. That wasn't usually how the conversation would go.
"When?"
"What did she say?" I asked. We all had hope. We were all wishing for a good end to that call.
"Thanks Heather. I owe you one."
Steve hung up the phone smiling. "I found her. She's in South Carolina. Kai found her. We have to go now."
No one waited even a single second. We all ran out of the police station and to the cars and we all took off driving. The drive to South Carolina was a little over nine hours. However I was dedicated to making that shit shorter.
"So how do we find her?"
I looked at max as I focused on driving. "Drive until we see her I guess, ask people if they've seen her maybe. I don't care if I have to search every house and every square foot I'm finding her."
