On Monday morning I made my way back to school. Going to the office to talk to the principle.

"Natalie how have you been honey?"

I looked at him smiling sitting down. "I've been doing better. I actually wanted to see if I was allowed to come back to school. I know I've missed a lot and I'll probably have to retake the entire year or semester, but I'm ready to come back."

My principle smiled at me nodding his head. "You can come back. We would love to see you succeed natalie. You can take the finals at the end of the semester. If you fail them though you will have to redo the semester you missed. If you pass I will let you graduate. I know everything you've been through hasn't been easy but I'm glad to see you still
Want to better yourself."

I smiled at my principle wide. "Thank you. I won't miss anymore school I swear."

My principle laughed lightly at me "one failed final natalie and you have to redo the year. I advise you to study hard. Finals are in a few months so you have time. Get to class. Welcome back."

I looked at my principle smiling and heading to my locker. Grabbing my things I left in it months ago. Still untouched. When I walked into class Nancy smiled at seeing me. I gave her a small smile and I went on with my day back to school.

"Holy shit your back!"

I smiled at Gareth as I sat down at the table. There was two new people added to the group I didn't know.

"Nat this is the newest hellfire members Jeff and you can call him freak. He prefers it."

I looked at the guys mumbling a hi and took a bite of my food.

"So the principle said if I pass my finals I can graduate but I've missed a lot of school so I doubt that will happen."

Eddie looked at me and smiled "we can study together. I have to pass this year. No way around it. Since you don't really care for Nancy I can ask her to make me some cards and shit."

I looked at Eddie smiling nodding my head.

"Where's billy? All he has to do is take his exams and get his diploma."

I looked at Gareth and shrugged my shoulders "we broke up."

The entire table looked at me and fell silent. "Why? You two were crazy about each other."
"Just needed a break I guess."

Eddie looked at me and snorted which brought the entire tables attention to Eddie. Who was staring daggers into me.

"A break? You plan on going back to him? Nat be almost fucking killed you. He almost beat you to death."

The table looked from Eddie to me. Staying completely silent.

"He didn't mean it. I pissed him off. I shouldn't have pushed. I should have just dropped the argument. He isn't himself. He will be eventually though. What do you want from me Eddie. I love him. I will always love him. So he's having a hard time. I can't hold that against him. Something is wrong but it will change."

Eddie looked at me snorting a heavy laugh. "Your not that dumb natalie. Why the hell do you always make excuses for him? Do you not see that cast? He did that. I mean god sakes you have to go back to the hospital today for more testing to make sure your internal bleeding didn't start back up."

I looked at Eddie but I didn't say anything. I just wiped my tear away as soon as it fell. I didn't say anything for the rest of lunch. I knew he was mad at me. We were having sex and I was hoping Billy would change, but we promised we wouldn't make this a thing and he was.

When school ended I dropped max off at home ignoring Billy's look as he stared at me from his front porch.

"Thanks for the ride."
"You're welcome."

I drove away heading to the hospital alone. While I was getting tests ran the entire group was at my house.

"He would have killed her if max wasn't there." Steve said.

Eddie sighed "yeah and she's still making excuses for him.
"She loves him. She just doesn't believe he would hurt her." Nancy mumbled lowly knowing what she said would piss Steve and Eddie off.

Robin sighed heavily. "I don't know guys. I think she's right. We've all seen how bad billy used to be. Yeah sure he can be violent but he's never gotten violent with a girl. He's never actually hit a girl let alone someone he loves."

They all continued to talk. Trying to figure it out.

"He is different now." Eddie mumbled lowly.
"But what? He was fine when we found him in the upside down. It was when we left that he changed somehow." Nancy uttered to the group.

The whole group stayed silent until Steve spoke again "I don't know but she isn't gonna give up on him until she figures it out. We've all seen that."

Eddie looked around "Billy does fucked up things, but beating a girl isn't him. Especially not almost beating her to death, and it's Nat of all people."

Just then max gasped making everyone look at her.

"They got the mind flayer out of him. I know my brother and he wouldn't do the things he's done to her. He loves her too much. He loves her more then he loves me and I'm his sister. So if the mind flayer isn't controlling him what is? Oh my god. That's it."

"Shit!" Steve groaned.
"What?" Eddie asked confused looking around.

Dustin chuckled almost unbelievably "it can't be."

Max crossed her arms over her chest. "He did say if he can't have Nat then no one can. He told her he found a way to be with her. We thought he meant the mind flayer. What if this entire time that hasn't been his plan?"

Nancy had tears in her eyes "he's psychotic but even that's crazy."
"There isn't any way he could have done that." Lucas chimes in.

Steve laughed "you guys underestimate him. He is nuts especially when it comes to Natalie. He always has a back up plan with her. Natalie will always choose Billy no matter how bad it gets."
"Which means in a way he gets her." Eddie said

Everyone sighed heavily as they sat in silence.

"Billy isn't Billy." Lucas said with wide eyes.
"But how would he even do it?" Dustin asked in a serious manner.

Steve stood up grabbing his keys. "Kai is crazy powerful. We all seen how powerful he was in the upside down and he was dead. Im going to the lab I have to talk to Owens."
