Everyone got ready for the battle of the upside down. At 8pm we all seperated. Nancy, Steve, Eddie, and Robin went to lovers lake. That's where gate one was at. Max and I went through the gate at Hawkins. Lucas, Erica, dustin, Mike and Gareth all waited at the gate at Eddie's.

"You can't go through the gate."

Max and I looked at the guy at Hawkins lab. We were both irritated. He was trying to make this harder on us.

"Look sir, you seem like a good person. I'm sure you are. However we are going through that gate. Regardless if you let us pass or not. We are. Our friends are already in the upside down and we have to help them. If you don't let us pass then they are gonna die and those deaths will be on you. The monster wants max and me. They can't kill the thing if we aren't there to distract it. Do you see my problem here?"

The older guy looked at max and I and smiled. I didn't give him time to respond with whatever smart ass remark I was sure he was going to respond with. I grabbed max's stun gun and pressed the Billy ton when I put it against the guys side. The guy yelled out falling to the ground unconscious and I took off running.

"MAX COME ON! LETS GO!!" I yelled out to her as she ran after me. Honestly the lab was like a fortress. It took us a few times of getting lost to finally find the gate. We were standing in front of the huge glowing gate when the voice on the loudspeaker made max jump.

"DONT YOU TWO THINK ABOUT IT! You go through that gate and it will be the last thing you do."

We heard him but we choose to ignore him.

"So much for el closing this one." I mumbled thinking of the night billy died. Max looked at me but she didn't say anything.

"Okay you know what to do right?" I asked max. She looked at me nodding her head. "Find the monster and don't die."

I looked at max hugging her. "I'm right behind you."

Max nodded her head and she walked through the gate.

"NATALIE! MAXINE!" The voice on the loud speaker was pissed but neither one of us cared. A few moments after max went through I kissed Billy's necklace around my neck and took a deep breath as I walked through.

The upside down was dark and foggy. Almost like it was a burned city in the ruble after a disaster. Vines were everywhere. It looked like Hawkins but it also didn't look like Hawkins. It was a darker and scarier version of Hawkins in a way. Max walked ahead of me. I put distance in between us not letting me be seen.

Back to Steve and the others Steve's pov

When the compass went crazy we stopped the boat. It was so dark out we couldn't see shit from the boat. So I started stripping. Shoes, socks, shirt.

"Steve be careful."

I looked at nance as she looked up at me. I couldn't help but smile lightly at her as I nodded my head. I grabbed the flashlight eddie wrapped inside of a bag for me and I jumped into the water from the side of the boat. I swam looking for any indication of something.

I knew there was a gate somewhere in this water I just had to find it. The flashlight helped but not much. The water was dark as fuck the deeper I got. I seen the red glow once I got deep enough. The gate wasn't as big as ones I have seen but it was still pretty fucking huge.

I lightly grazed the gate but when something on the other side moved I jumped. Call me a bitch if you want but yeah I got scared. I jumped and I dropped the flashlight on accident. I didn't mean to but I did and I high tailed for the surface.

When I came back to the surface I scared the shit out of the others. Nancy jumped, robin yelled and Eddie screamed.

"I found it." I said as I swam over to the boat, holding on letting it keep me up.

"You found it?" Nancy asked in an excited voice.
"Yeah I found it. It's pretty wild. It's more baby sized them mamma sized but it's still pretty damn big."

I barely got the words out of my mouth when my grip of the boat slipped and I slightly dropped into the water. I grabbed the boat thinking I was okay and I just did something dumb. However that thought immediately disappeared when i felt something around my ankle dragging me down into the water.

I was being dragged right back down to the gate I just swam away from. I couldn't hear the others but from the boat they were all screaming my name. About the time I was drug through the gate and being pulled by the vine was about the time they all jumped into the water after me.

I was now in the upside down. In the ground when I seen the bats coming straight for me. I didn't even fight one off because one of the fucking bastards wrapped it's huge tail around my throat slamming me onto to ground. The bastard had a good fucking grip too.

I was holding the bats tail trying to get the thing off of me to stop it from strangling me when more bats came in. Multiple bats laid into me. It if me. Picking my skin. The pain was brutal. It definitely did hurt like a bitch and I screamed from the pain.

I was smacking the bats trying to get them to stop eating me alive as I was still being choked. I was jumping and groaning from the amount of pain I was in. I could feel it everywhere. Even on my insides. Then again that is what they were digging for.

I kind of came to the conclusion that I was going to die. I mean I couldn't get them off of me and I couldn't breathe. However in that moment I thought that one of the bats flew off of me as Nancy smacked it hard as fuck with the oar.

She smacked it so hard I assume she stunned it a little because it didn't even come back. It just scurried away until it pulled its wings out flying. Leaving the other bats to fend for themselves.

"Hey there." Nancy said in a low voice as she hit another bat. Robin ran over stepping on the bat choking me and Nancy flipped the oar stabbing the bat.

"KILL IT!" Eddie was yelling as he watched but not really helping. Nancy and Robin kept trying to get the bay off of me. The huge roar made eddie look behind him as more bats were coming straight for us. Eddie yelled but swung his oar hitting a bat sending it flying.

Bats were coming from every direction. One even jumping on Nancy's back stopping her from helping me. Robin grabbed the bat on Nancy trying to get it off. All of them fighting thier own bats until I got pissed enough. I grabbed the bats tail biting it as hard as I could until eventually it tried flying away.

However it almost strangled me so I was pissed. I held onto the bats tail and flung the bat onto the ground smacking it hard as fuck a few times. The bat left a blood spot on the ground but I was so pissed I didn't care. I stepped on the bat and pulled back severing the head from the body as I spit up so much blood.

"So much for a sneaky entrance." I mumbled as everyone looked at me. However we all went silent when we looked in front of us. Heading straight for us.

*impossible.

"What the fuck." I mumbled shocked.
"Oh my god!" Eddie said in a confused yet panicked and excited tone.

We all stood still as we looked at Billy. It was impossible though. Billy was dead. We all watched him die. Didn't we? Was this really Billy or was this just the upside down fucking with our heads.

"Where is max and Nat?" Billy asked completely unfazed of our reactions.

"We're meeting them at Eddie's. How are you alive?"Nancy mumbled as she stared at Billy.
"We watched you die." Robin said in a small voice.

Billy looked at us and smiled. "It's a long story. We need to move."

We heard him but we were so happy he was alive. We all hugged Billy not really being able to stop ourselves. Billy gave us our hugs. I think deep down he knew we needed them.

"I want to see max and Nat can we please go?" Billy asked. We all smiled nodding our heads.

"Phase 1 complete. Let's go kill the bastard and save max and Nat." Eddie mumbled as we all took off going to phase 2 of our plan.
