Chases POV:
What the fuck is he doing here. He doesn't even live here.

I haven't seen this guy in 5 years. Last time I talked to him was when I moved out. I have 2 older bothers. Both doctors. One of them, Tristan, my other brother keeps in contact with the family. My other one, Fred, stopped talking to the entire family except Tristan.

Fred is an asshole. He always has been. He brags about how great his life is and how terrible everyone else's life is.

I'm glad he lost contact with me. I'd rather not see him ever again. My parents were devestes when he never showed up to family dinners on holidays, he never seemed to be fazed though.

Charli: "your brother?"

She turned to him and put out her hand.
I stepped in front of her before he could shake it.

Chase: "what are you doing here."
Fred: "I moved here."

Oh you gotta be joking.

Chase: "what do you mean you moved here?"
Fred: "I left Washington. I got offered a new job here"

Of course he did.
This is just great.

Fred: "so who's this? Your casual hookup? Your escort?"

Because he can't believe I have a girlfriend.

Charli: "actually I'm his girlfriend."

He laughed

Fred: "like Chase could ever get a girlfriend"

I can and I have. I even got 2.

Charli: "Well he has and I don't see a ring on your finger so I assume you don't have a wife yet? What are you? Pushing your 50s? Better hurry up"

I covered my mouth with my face trying not to laugh

I don't think I've ever liked her more.

Fred: "for your information I'm only 36."
Charli: "really?"

I laughed

Chase: "so you don't have a wife, and I assume you don't have a girlfriend because look at you. So how could you not believe me when I say I have a girlfriend, when you don't even have one."

He rolled his eyes

Fred: "I don't think it counts if you've been dating for what? 3 days I'm guessing?"

I looked at charli and she looked infuriated. Almost more then me.

Charli: "actually, we've been dating for 4 years. We're expecting too"

She lifted her shirt and my brothers eyes widened

Fred: "my little brother is having a child?"

I'm actually so happy charli has thought of this. My life is actually looking better then his. I have a beautiful girlfriend and a baby on the way while he's got no girlfriend or family. Sad.

Fred: "wow. I'm in pure shock."

He really thought I'd fail at life.

Fred: "so what do you do?"

Uh. Never mind.

Chase: "Um I actually-"
Charli: "he's a real estate agent. Last year he made 5.2 million. It's crazy really, he started from nothing and only a few years later he's the best real estate agent I know"
