Time skip ⏭️ 2 weeks later

Chases POV:
I did what she told me, I went back to work. It doesn't feel right though. I know she's not okay but she's forced me to go back to work.  I am happy with her obviously. She thinks she's the problem, that she's the reason we're not happy. But that isn't true. We are happy together, we just aren't in a happy time.

We aren't the problem. We are meant to be together. The reason we aren't happy right now isn't because of us.

When I returned back to work they weren't exactly happy that I missed a whole month but they understood why.

They couldn't believe that something terrible happened to me again. They thought it would be great song inspiration.

Song inspiration? Seriously? Was that all they were getting out of this.

I liked being back at work though. It took my mind off things and it actually made me feel better. Made everything feel normal.

Jesse: "Hello??"

I snapped out of my thoughts

Chase: "yeah?"
Jesse: "which single do you want to release?"

Oh.

Chase: "I don't know. Maybe track #4 ?"

She shook her head quickly

Jesse: "absolutely not. It's gonna be either track #2 or #8"

Oh okay.

Chase: "okay. #2"
Jesse: "no i think we're gonna release #8"

Why did she even ask me

Jesse: "The song you release has to be your best song ever. Why? Because if it isn't then nobody will care about you. It's your first song. This is the song that will either start or end your career."

Shit.

Jesse: "we are a big record company. We will get it playing on a lot of radio stations, but if it flops then we'll have no choice but to drop you. We gotta keep our reputation"

Shit. What if this song is not good enough.

Chase: "I wanna write another song."
Jesse: "what do you mean you wanna write another song??"

I wanna write another song

Chase: "I feel like I can do better. I feel like I can make the whole album better."
Jesse: "are you kidding?"

No? I'm not kidding.

Chase: "I can do better"
Jesse: "how."

I really didn't wanna have to do this

Chase: "I'm gonna start writing about real shit. Less songs about how great and easy love is. More songs poeple can relate to and the sad truth about how crap love can be."

When I got home from work I was in a better mood then when I left.
I wrote them a song really quick that they absolutely loved, they let me go home a little early

I opened the door and walked into the place.

Chase: "Char. I got you you're favourite drink"
