~Chapter 67~
                            Okay

Chases POV:
I'm not sure it's the best song to be released as a single. It would be fine if it was just a song in the album, but that's gonna be my first song ever to be released?

It's a good song. A great song actually. And if charli wasn't in the picture I would love to release it... but that's gonna be the first song she hears. She's gonna hate me.

The song is about how I was feeling in the moment. It sounded good when I wrote it but now it just sounds mean and insensitive.

Crackhead love? Really? Will other people even like that? What if everyone hates it because they think it's rude and controversial.

Well. It is rude and controversial. I wouldn't blame anyone if they were offended by it.

Fuck, I can't release this shit.

Chase: "no I'm not releasing it. I'm not. It's disrespectful honestly? First off, I'm calling everyone who's addicted to drugs a crackhead, secondly I'm calling my girlfriend a crackhead."

We can't release it.

Jesse: "no. It will be perfect. It's original. Unique. No one eles has heard anything like it."

Uhhh

Jesse: "you want to be successful? This is it. You know how many wanna be singers are doing the exact same thing as you are right now? Who are working their asses off just to have a song played on the radio? Millions. You know how many of them make it? 0.04%. Not even one percent of those millions will ever be known. What makes you different"

Oh.

Chase: "I'm a good singer?"

She laughed

Jesse: "90% of the world can sing!"

Oh.

Jesse: "exactly. Nothing. Nothing makes you different. Sure, you've got trama. But so does almost every single person on this earth. Maybe yours is a little worse, so what? No one cares. That doesn't make you different from the others. What will make you different is if you write different songs that everyone else is too scared to write."

She's convincing me. I think she's right. I have to release this one.

Jesse: "and you're right. Maybe it can end your career before it even starts, or maybe, just maybe, it could make you a star."

I smiled

She's right. I can either spend my entire life making songs that everyone's heard a thousand times or I can make something people will remember.

Chase: "okay let's do it. Let's release it."

As terrible as the title of the song is, the song isn't like that. It's a good song. It actually talks about the real affects of drugs, and how it can change a person. The song is good. A lot of people In california have substance abuse problems or know someone who does.

Jesse: "great! Now we can start working on the music of the song."

We're just starting to get in a better place. We're finally starting to move on from Elliot, and move on from drugs but this song could ruin us again

Maybe I can just never tell her I released it. Yeah. How will she ever know? She won't. We never listen to the radio. She'll never know.
