               The past is not the past

Chases POV:
I did this didn't I. I should have never left her for a second. This happened before and right then and there I said I'd never leave her again and look what I've done? I've made the same mistake again?

It was the day after we kissed for the first time. I told her I couldn't be near her, I couldn't be her friend anymore. That next day she was in the psych ward.

Chase: "I- I think it's my fault. I left her for a day. And now she's like this."

Obviously it isn't completely my fault. There were a lot of factors that contributed to this, the clinical trial was a big one and her not taking her medication and the pregnancy. But maybe, just maybe if I hadn't left then I would have been able to help her

Dr.Heller: "what's your name?"

Oh no. He's gonna report me to the police or something

Chase: "Chase"

He sat down in a chair next to me

Dr.Heller: "Chase, you can't be in a relationship with Charli if you think that every single thing you do will result in her hurting herself. If you believe every fight you have will make her do that, then I don't think you should be in a relationship with her in the first place."

He wants me to break up with her?

Chase: "so you want me to end things? You don't understand. She loves me. I can't leave her."
Dr.Heller: "I can't force you to do anything. All I'm saying, is charli is very reliant on you and at this time, she's very mentally unstable and the longer you're with her the longer she depends on you to make her happy. Now I don't know much about charli specifically but I've seen a lot of things like this and they don't end well."

Oh. Charlis different. Shes not like anyone else. I will make sure she doesn't depend on me for everything. She's a fighter, she pushes through things. She's survived so much. She'll survive this. She doesn't need me to live. She just wants me.

Chase: "Doctor I appreciate your take on it, but she's a lot stronger then you think. She'll make it through this in no time, she's not dependent on me."

He smiled and nodded

Dr.Heller: "alright, that's fine. Just be careful alright? If you start to notice her leaning on you a bit too much then think about what I said. It's not only bad for her but it puts a lot of pressure on you."

I guess I understand what he means.

Chase: "alright Il keep that in mind."
Dr.heller: "okay."

He stood up and left
I turned to charli and she opened her eyes

Chase: "hey"
I smiled and placed my hand on her head

Charli: "hi"

Yes?! She can't talk!

Chase: "are you... okay?"

It's a dumb question. I know. But what am I supposed to say to her right now?

Charli: "I..."
She started puking on the floor and then she started to cry

Oh my gosh. She's been awake for what? 5 seconds?

Chase: "baby, it's okay"
I grabbed some napkins and wiped her face

Charli: "my legs. They- I can't-"
