CHAPTER 8

Her terms with Hyunjin is getting worse since Yeji is getting more and more straightforward with her visible crushing towards Ryu. It's somehow pathetic to see according to Hyunjin. He often thought about what that man do to be able to attract Yeji that much.

"he's still there?" Hyunjin asked through the call.

"yeah. He's still working." Yeji is sitting on the couch, watching Ryu.

"alright. When he's done, I'm gonna pick you up."

"okay."

By the time she hangs up, Ryu is already done with the shooting. Yeji quickly approaches him.

"hey... is everything good?" Yeji leans down to him who's monitoring. She also checks the results.

"It can be better." Ryu said without batting an eye on her. "I will."

Ryu is serious about work and Yeji clearly notice this from him. she straightens up and just stare at Ryu.

"excuse me." Wonpil kindly greeted them. "we're about to have another schedule."

"ah, right." Ryu stands up, facing Yeji. "I'll be going."

"take care." Yeji smiles at him.

"um... before I go, I just wanna let you know that... you can call me anytime if you wanna hang out." Ryu said out of nowhere. "I kinda wanna meet up with Jeong and Chae too."

"easy. We can arrange it." Yeji is happy to hear those from him. "now, go. You must be so busy." Yeji poked the tip of his nose playfully. Ryu just let out a stifled laugh.

"okay."

After two weeks, Ryu finally can have a free time. this day too, he will meet up with his friends.

"Wonpil." Ryu called. "since this is my free day, I guess you can have yours too. I kinda need some alone time."

"thank you, sir."

Since everything is planned few days prior by Yeji, Ryu headed to the destined place to meet them. Taking a short ride, he arrived there and notice Jeong sitting alone playing with his phone.

"bro!" Jeong soon noticed him. he stands up and greets him with a tight hug. "oh, I missed you." his voice was muffled.

"I miss you, Jeong." Ryu let go of him. "heard you went to a bartending school."

"... and I have my own bar. not big, but it's famous." Jeong said proudly.

"I know that. I know where it is, too." Ryu chuckles.

"are you a spy or something?" Jeong raised an eyebrow.

"unlike you, I read the news." Ryu just smiles a little.

"hey guys! sorry we're late. We just have a girls' day, ya know?" Yeji sits beside Ryu and Chaeryeong sits beside Jeong.

"did you buy something for me?" Jeong shows his puppy face to Chaeryeong. "I miss you."

"please, we live together. How can you miss me?" Chaeryeong rolled her eyes. "I bought something for myself. If you're not that addicted to your toys, I would buy you things more often."

"o... kay... let's get that matter somewhere else." Yeji giggles. "oh! I have another keychain for you." Yeji takes out a fox keychain.

"thank you." Ryu takes the keychain. He remembers that the cat one is still safe in her drawer. "you must've like animals."

"you can say it like that."

"or maybe she just likes you." Jeong teased him.

"that is also true. I hope you don't mind." Yeji smiles cutely at Ryu.

Instead of weirded out, Ryu finds this behaviour quite attractive. Her way of smiling accentuate her dimple and her eyes are sparkling, adding to her charm.

"alright. I'll order something for you guys." Ryu stands up. "you get the iced americano, you get the vanilla latte, and you will have... something with hazelnut and oat milk...?"

"triple shot!" Jeong adds to his americano.

"right! hazelnut latte with oat milk." Chaeryeong smiles at him.

"you're correct about mine." Yeji shrugs.

Ryu then walks away to the counter.

"he remembers all that?" Chaeryeong is impressed.

"he's always like that. he even remembered the last time I took a shit." Jeong joked around.

"isn't he the best." Yeji sighs, daydreaming about him.

"amazing how you still like him even after years." Chaeryeong commented.

"I work with him. he's a model so I see his face everywhere. Even his mom reminds me of him." Yeji looks at Chaeryeong.

"from movies?" Jeong questioned.

"yeah. I feel like he'll become an actor too. which will make him have a kissing scene with another girl and then they'll act all romantic and stuff." Yeji starts overthinking.

"hey... don't think like that. it's still a long way." Jeong assured her.

"it's still possible." Chaeryeong looks at Jeong. He then quickly nudges her arm.

"wait... what takes him so long?" Yeji averted the conversation.

They all looked at the cashier. Ryu is talking with a girl.

"that bitch." Yeji squinted her eyes at Karina.

"watch your mouth." Chaeryeong whispers.

Just when they noticed her, Ryu and Karina looks at their table.

"we just have time today. Good to be back with them." Ryu smiles at Karina.

"I'm glad you're happy." Karina returns a smile. "perhaps, we can hang out again."

"ah... I'll try to make time. it's been so busy these days."

"whenever you're free."

Soon, Ryu walks back to the table. The café is a little crowded so even after that conversation, they still need to wait for a few minutes.

"is that Karina?" Yeji asked him immediately after he sat down.

"yes. She happened to have a schedule around here." Ryu replied calmly. "they'll serve our coffees."

"understandable." Jeong shows them a gun sign. "that means we have lots of time together, today."
