CHAPTER 21

"BREAKING NEWS! Shin Ryujin, the famous Korean-American actor and model held a glamourous wedding as the notorious Hwang Yeji who's the owner of Hwang corp. in New York and many other companies all across US. based on YXY magazine, they're considered to be the richest married couple in the USA, reaching six billion dollars net worth combined." the news anchor looks at her partner. "a shocking news, isn't it? It was said that he's still working while preparing all this."

"that is true. People on the social medias are shocked and starts to look for evidence of their relationship online."

"for all we know, we wish them a great marriage and future ahead. Moving on to the next news."

Ryu stands at the end of the isle, waiting for Yeji. This isn't the situation he's hoping for. Supposedly, only Yeji's parents, his mother, and their bestfriend are allowed to enter. But, reporters are able to came in. not all, though. But it's still a lot considering there are more outside the chapel. Ryu can think about that later. What matters now is their ceremony. Ryu's thoughts were interrupted by an announcement.

"here comes the bride!"

The front door opened, cameras flashes can't be ignored but Ryu can only focus on one woman and only her. though Yeji's face is covered by the veil, Ryu can see her small smile as she looks towards him with her father.

"we're getting married." Ryu whispered to himself.

"many people forget their vows, son. May God give you strength." The priest reminded.

"thank you, Father."

Yeji is getting close and Ryu's heart can't seem to control itself. He let out a long sigh to prepare himself. Before he knows it, Yeji is already standing in front of him.

"hey." Yeji stifles a laugh.

"hey." Ryu nervously replied. He then holds her hands gently.

The two shares a smile while the priest begin the ceremony. They couldn't take their eyes off of each other.

"you may say your vows. Starting from Mr. Shin."

"first of, I want to say thank you for being patient with me and stay with me until now. trusting me enough to take you as my wife. I can't believe that you'll be the one that I'm gonna marry. I know I'm not the best but I will do my best for you and for us. Regardless, I'm grateful to have you in my life. I promise I will take care of you with all that I have even if I need to give up my life. You're the best thing that I've ever had. I love you and I will never stop doing that."

A round of applause are given to him. Yeji's turn to say hers.

"ever since I saw you entering my class. I instantly fall in love. I didn't know it at first. I took it all simple, thinking that it was just like the other crushes that I've had. The problem is, whenever we're apart, I feel so broken and I made some mistakes that made me think that you hated me. thank you for staying with me. I promise I will be the better version of myself. I will stay with you in the best and worst times, taking care of you until our time runs out, and I will love you until the end of time."

Another applause are heard. Ryu also can hear sobs from Jeong. The priest continues until they exchanged their rings.

"you may now kiss the bride."

Ryu slowly lifts up her veil, revealing her beautiful face.

"we're married, love." Ryu let a tear fall down his cheek. He cups her face with two hands and go straight to kiss her.

Yeji quickly reciprocate. She can't help but smile at how eager Ryu is. sadly, they have to pull away.

The two already changed and the next event is their reception. Ryu rented some sections of a beach for their party.

"we can hear you cry, Jeong. Stop bluffing." Yeji chuckles.

"you guys are beautiful. can't help it." Jeong shrugs. "you really shook the internet. People are searching up for ya'll."

"then let them. As long as it doesn't hurt us." Ryu responded.

"I just think you should be more careful." Chaeryeong added.

"I don't want to think about that, right now." Ryu smiles at her.

Then, someone caught Ryu's eyes. lee Minho. He follows his father towards her mother.

"what is he doing here? Your mom knows his father?"

"seems like it. It's better to avoid him." Ryu informed.

After some time, Yeji and Ryu decided to split up so they can greet the guests.

"this is amazing. The food, the venue, not to mention the beach! I love beaches." Eunseo complimented. "no wonder they gave you the title."

"title?"

"richest couple on the US. you haven't heard it?" Eunseo wondered.

"of course, he hasn't. he's busy with this." Irene chimed in.

"oh, right." Eunseo chuckles. "anyway, hope you guys last long. Marrying someone is easy. Staying loyal is one hard stuff."

"as if you really did." Irene scoffed.

"alright. I'll go to the other guests. Enjoy the party."

After that, he goes to join his mother and her friends. He meets Miyeon and her father as well as Minho's but he's nowhere to be found.

Ending their conversation, Ryu intended to go back to his table with a drink. When he hold two glasses of drink, someone bumped him hard from behind. Ryu spills most of the liquid from the glasses.

"oh sorry. I didn't see a loser walking by." Minho scoffed, laughing at Ryu.

"you're making a scene. Don't embarrass yourself." Ryu quickly grab a napkin to clean his hands.

"embarrass myself? Are you talking to yourself? this place is ugly and cheap. I feel sorry for Yeji."

"why don't you leave before you expose yourself even more? You've ruined our life enough." Ryu proceeds to grab another drink.

"those reporters seems desperate. Should I let them in?" Minho pats his shoulder then walks away.

Ryu walks back to his table, joining his wife and friends. He quickly calls Wonpil to make sure everything is guarded.

"you don't have to worry, sir."

Ryu looks over to the entrance. Turns out, Minho got caught by the security when he tried to open the barricade and persuade the guards.

"just arrest him. I've had enough." Ryu looks down. "I want him to see detective Chris. He'll know what to do."

"Ryu..." Yeji holds his hand.

"he won't be bothering us again. I won't let things come between us."
