THE PRINCE (Ryeji fanfiction)

CHAPTER 4

Ryu is back in New York and Yeji is back in Singapore. The two are still finding a way to see each other. It made both of them feel frustrated.

"so you're saying she came to your place and told you that she wants to see me? did I hear that right?" Ryu repeated what Jeong said.

"dude... please..." Jeong groans. "you both are driving us nuts! What the fuck are you worried about?!"

"knowing her, she probably found a new guy now. that's how she is." Ryu has mixed feelings about her still.

"just go there like a man, bro. she's waiting for you."

"how do you know that she's here only to see me? she has a great life there!" Ryu raised his voice a little.

"stop lying to yourself." Jeong calmed down.

"son." Nayeon walks into the office with a smile. "I just saw Miyeon at the studio. Did you know that her mother was my high school friend?"

"what a coincidence." Ryu pressed a smile.

"and who is this man? Are you having a business talk?" Nayeon looks at Jeong.

"your mother didn't know me?" Jeong looks at Ryu in disbelieve. "I'm his friend. Nice to meet you ma'am." Knowing that it's probably important, Jeong moves to the couch.

"ah... it's okay. don't get mad at him. he doesn't like to talk about his close friends." A small curve formed on Nayeon's lips.

"okay, thanks for confirming." Ryu sighs. "do you wanna check on something?"

"yes. I'm just looking around. Starting to get bored at home." Nayeon sits in front of him. "you know. I'm starting to think about you having your own family. Maybe I'm starting to think that I'm old enough to hold a grandchild."

"and why are you telling me this?" of course he feels happy and relieved that his mother finally gave him permission to fully live his life but he feels something else.

"what do you think about Miyeon?"

Ryu suddenly got triggered. Did she want to match him up with her? he thought. But, he set those aside and be positive about it. Therefore, he can just say what's on his mind.

"she's a great model." That's one good thing that Ryu can think of.

"other than that?"

"that's about it."

"okay. I'm just giving you an option." Nayeon smiles. "I'm gonna look around some more. Then I'll see you at home."

Yeji is having a thought of going back to New York. She's currently having a chill time at her favorite park.

"mind if I sit here?"

Yeji looks up to see Mingyu smiling at her. to be truly honest, she doesn't really need a company right now.

"I bought an extra ice cream." Mingyu puts down the cup on the table then sits in front of her.

"thank you." Yeji smiles a little.

Unlike the usual, Mingyu seems a little silent. He looks around the place, not engaging some conversation.

"did you also like coming here?" Yeji feels awkward so she starts talking.

"oh, I work here." Mingyu choked a little since Yeji never really talked first. "at that restaurant. I just got off work and I saw you here. So, I bought an ice cream for you from that guy. Buy one get one free. Couldn't refuse that." Mingyu chuckles.

"hm... I see."

"I didn't see you for a few days."

"I just got back from US." Yeji said as she stirs her ice cream.

"oh, you must've had something important to do. do you have a business there?" Mingyu asked back.

"I own a few." Yeji replied kindly.

"well, I hope it's all doing great. I wish I can do that too. travel everywhere I want without worrying about the cost and all. must've been fun."

"understandable." Yeji just smiles at him.

Then it goes back to silence. Looks like Mingyu knows that Yeji doesn't want to be bothered.

"you can just tell me if you need some time so I can just leave. I don't wanna bother you."

"no, it's okay... if you wanna stay." Yeji feels sorry for him so she just let him. hopefully he didn't get his hopes up on something.

"alright then."
