CHAPTER 10

"sir. Please calm down." Ryu guides him back to sit.

"how dare you!" Hyunbin shouts at Minho.

"I didn't do anything!" Minho stands up. "he's a fucking liar! He must've manipulated Yeji and you both so he can frame me!"

"was that how you speak to me? you just gave me a reason to get rid of you." Hyunbin stands up again.

Ryu is confused at this point. He can understand Hyunbin's anger towards Minho but he didn't wanna see them fight like this.

"gentlemen." Ryu said sternly. "it's better to solve this with a cold head."

"I want him locked up behind bars, rotting in prison." Hyunbin sits down.

"wait, no. you don't want that. he's the one that deserves to be punished. If you have any evidence, show it! I have the best lawyer behind me." Minho pointed at Ryu.

"oh believe me I do too. I won't be showing things to you." Ryu sits back down.

"that's it. I'm leaving." Minho thought that he can run.

Ryu quickly grabs him by the collar, stopping him from walking away.

"let him go. We'll do this the right way." Hyunbin commanded.

Ryu lets him go and just sit down again.

"is that true?" Yejin asked him. "what you said."

"you can lock me up instead if I'm telling you the opposite." Ryu is getting frustrated.

"we'd like to see the evidence." Yejin gathered some courage. It hurts for her too, hearing the new facts being poured all at once.

"I suggest that we wait for Yeji's approval." Ryu still puts Yeji on top. "I promise that you will see the evidence."

For about three months, Yeji's parents works from home. That event is pretty traumatizing for them. Not to mention that that's the second time it happened.

Ryu still visits Yeji. The parents knows and allows him to do so. You can say that most of his times were spent on Yeji. He thought that it'll also make up all the times he can't spend on Yuna.

Ryu knocks on Yeji's door. When he heard her reply, he walks in. he sees that Yeji is on her laptop.

"what are you doing?" Ryu sits beside her on the bed.

"working." Yeji looks at him with a small smile. "I think I need to start being productive."

"that's great." Ryu smiles back. other than her mental conditions, he keeps his attention to her belly. Until now, he still doesn't know whether she's pregnant or not. he's hoping that it's not true, though. "how do you feel?"

"I'm better. Thanks to you." Yeji closed her laptop. "you stay." Yeji leans in and hugs him tightly.

"no, the ba-" Ryu holds back. "I can't breathe."

"I hugged you like that all the time." Yeji pouts. "are you sick of me?"

"no it's not like that." Ryu rubs his neck.

"did something come up?" Yeji can see his uneasy face.

"no. nothing. We have everything to go against him. but..." Ryu really wants to know. "did you do a pregnancy test?"

"I'm on my period, though. Does that mean I'm still pregnant?"

Ryu let out a long sigh. He pulls her in for another hug.

"I'm glad." Ryu said to her.

"as long as he doesn't bother me, I think I'll be good." Yeji looks up.

"I know. I'll keep you safe."

"you will?"

"I'll do better than I ever did to Yuna." Ryu looks at her, pulling away from her embrace.

"thank you so much, Ryu."

Ryu haven't heard a thing about Minho, not that he cares about him, though. Another of his peaceful day gets interrupted by a call.

"hello." Ryu greeted his mother.

"what did you do? Chris contacted me."

"ah, that. I had to do the right thing, mom." Ryu sighs.

"if people knows about this, you'll be doomed. Please think about your reputation."

"I know that, also, I can prove myself that I'm not guilty of anything. you don't need to worry."

"I know how smart and intelligent you are, dear. But, you have to be ready for any consequences."

"I'm aware of that and I'm ready for it as long as what I'm doing is right." Ryu reassures her.

"I'm not saying that what you did is wrong. I will support you, of course. I'm just worried that this will get out of hand."

"trust me. I have all this under control."

"just... tell me if you need anything."

"okay."
